I stared into her eyes, watching the spark fade away. I thought loss was always just losing somebody to the hand of death, but I learned loss was also losing somebody you once knew to somebody you don't even know anymore.
We know that heroes were once villains, and that villains were once heroes. But what we never knew is that the ones who saved us would be the ones drowning us. She was the reason I got through sophomore year, and the reason junior year was bearable, but this year...I can't even look her in the eye.
