Today's update is a little different. Have you ever met a character in the Pokemon games who wasn't a Pokemon Trainer but should've? Or maybe they weren't a trainer, but you could definitely see them with a Pokemon or Two? Yup, today I'm going over a few Pokemon characters who aren't Pokemon Trainers and giving them a team of Pokemon.

1. Sonia-Pokemon Sword & Shield

Sonia from Pokemon Sword & Shield SHOULDVE been a trainer the player had to fight at one point or another given she is 100% confirmed to be a Pokemon Trainer. The big thing about Sonia's character was that she challenged the Gym Challenge the same year as Champion Leon when they were teenagers. Clearly Leon succeeded, Sonia did not. During the story of Sword & Shield, Sonia repeatedly mentioned how she's still currently a Pokemon Trainer and that she's a capable enough trainer she can handle the Wild Area on her own. This means Sonia is a gifted trainer, too bad we never get the opportunity to fight her, even in the DLC.

-Yamper: Yamper is one of two Pokemon we 100% know Sonia owns given her Yamper follows her everywhere she goes

-Yamper: Yamper is one of two Pokemon we 100% know Sonia owns given her Yamper follows her everywhere she goes. It's a fitting Pokemon too Nobody can deny.
-Shiny Tsareena: Shiny Tsareena is the second Pokemon that Sonia is confirmed to have. In Pokemon Masters, Sonia's signature Pokemon is Shiny Tsareena and I'll be honest, I'm surprised she has a shiny yet at the same time I'm not surprised at all. She is a Pokemon professor and it's really cool that she canonically owns a shiny. Plus, Tsareena is a really good pick for her.
-Butterfree: On most fan predictions for a Sonia team, Butterfree is present as Sonia's Gigantamax Pokemon. I agree with said prediction. Considering where Sonia's laboratory is and the Pokemon you can find on said route, Caterpie is a Pokemon you can catch. It wouldn't surprise me if Caterpie happened to be Sonia's first Pokemon and she trained it up to be a powerful Butterfree she later Gigantamaxed in all its glory.
-Corviknight: This is the third confirmed Pokemon Sonia owned. However, Sonia Owning said Corviknight is a little bit of a stretch as well. In the Pokemon Journey's anime, Sonia was confirmed to have owned a Rookidee in her youth but it was never seen again. I like to think this Rookidee remained on her team and Sonia took it on the Gym Challenge with her.
-Vaporeon: The fan predictions for Sonia's team also predict her to have an Eeveelution. Most fan predictions show her to have Vaporeon or Jolteon and I don't believe she'd have Jolteon and have multiple electric types as she already has Yamper. Therefore, Vaporeon would be my next choice. I feel Sonia would have Vaporeon as to counter Leon's Ace: Charizard but to also counter Sonia's blaring weaknesses to rock and ground types.
-Galarian Darmanitan: I feel it'd be wrong if Sonia didn't have a Galarian regional variant. Furthermore, most fan predictions for Sonia's team predict that she'd have a fire type. I feel that we can kill two birds with one stone and give Sonia both her regional variant and a fire type by giving her Galarian Darmanitan. Darmanitan can change types in battle from Ice to Fire plus I think it's goofy self fits Sonia well.
