Have you ever wondered which Champion across all the games were the strongest? Today, I'm going over ALL Pokemon Champions, current and past, and determining which of them are the strongest. I'm even including your rivals who happen to be champion for mere minutes before being dethroned by the player such as Blue. I'm also including characters who were Champion prior to the events of their designated game such as with Mustard and lastly characters who fulfilled the role of Champion despite technically not being one such as with Kieran & Kukui. Yup, I'm going all out for this one.
For this update I heavily referenced MandJTV's video he made a few years back where he looked at the statistics and determined which Champion current and past would realistically be the strongest and which... Should've never became a Champion in the first place.
16. Peony
Peony, a former Champion of Galar, was introduced to the Pokemon series through the Sword and Shield DLC. Peony is an eccentric character whose had many titles actually. He used to be a Champion before he was demoted where he took on the title of Steel Gym leader instead, but now he is just straight up retired and exploring the frozen Galarian wastelands named the Crowne Tundra.
Team: Sword & Shield
1. Perrserker-Steel
Base Stats: 440
2. Bronzong-Steel/Psychic
Base Stats: 500
3. Aggron-Steel/Rock
Base Stats: 530
4. Scizor-Steel/Bug
Base Stats: 500
5. Copperajah-Steel
Base Stats: 500
Combined Stat Total: 2,470
We have an issue with Peony and that's we DONT know what his Champion team is and that he DOESNT have 6 Pokemon at any time throughout Sword and Shield. Therefore by default, he's the weakest champion in Pokemon history. Even with his team as is, he doesn't stand a chance against anyone except maybe Diantha whose entire team has weakness to Steel types. It wouldve helped if Peony Gigantamaxed his Copperajah BUT he doesn't. Sorry Peony, your 5 figure Steel team is better equipped for title of Gym Leader rather than Champion.15. Alder
