In another part of the Isles, Skara was looking around one of the many closets that Eda seemed to have. The reason being that this would serve as her new room until she was old enough to be back in her home mansion.

Just like Luz's room, there wasn't much to it, mostly just a small sleeping bag and a chest. Though that would soon change, as not only were people giving Luz offerings AKA money, but Eda had also received so many chests of money that the Emperor's Coven confiscated from others. They were going to use that to upgrade the house a bit and buy some new things to make the rooms better.

"It's not much kid but it'll be remolded soon." Eda said, putting a hand on Skara's shoulder.

"It's fine, really. I can manage with a small room." Skara said, looking around. "Though, I am curious to all the human stuff you have in here."

"Hey, I had to make money somehow." Eda said, shrugging. "In fact, why don't we take a look around and see if there's something you like?"

Very curious and very interested, Skara walked around the room and looked in some of the boxes of human items/possibly garbage.

'That should keep her busy for a minute.' Eda thought as she went to go check on Raine.

In her room, Eda found Raine laying in the nest.

"Hey, did you know I can change my arm into a mini axe?" Eda said, looking at the blade she made with her right, anti-magic hand, "Ah, this makes my old arm look pathetic!"

"It also makes you more dangerous than you already are." Raine said, sighing in relief of the lumbar support of the nest.

Eda was so focused on playing with her right arm that she didn't even hear Raine. She made her arm into a sharp spike. Raine giggled at Eda acting like a child that just did their first light spell.

'That arm is cool but I worry she might have too much fun with it.' Raine thought.

"Hey! I can make it bigger too!" Eda said, making her anti-magic hand 3 times as large but with only three fingers. "I could knock out anyone with just one punch!"

"How about we not test that right now?" Raine asked, pointing to a wall. "You might take the wall out."

"Take the wall out? Oh! Great idea! I could help with the remodel later and tear down certain walls myself!" Eda said with a grin, changing her fist back to normal size.

"Please... don't do that." Raine said, "So, there's lots of things to talk about."

"Like explaining to Luz and King they have a sister?" Eda asked.

"Yes that but also other things." Raine said.

Eda went to the nest and laid down next to Raine.

"If you told me a decade ago that this was how my life would go... I honestly would've said that sounds about right, but still." Eda said, her head on Raine's chest.

"You still think it's crazy to think you would have 3 kids, two of which you unofficially adopted and are gods, while one you did legally adopt?" Raine asked.

"Nah, I expected the adopted part, I just never imagined my life would be this good." Eda said, smiling a bit. "I figured that I would either run wild as the Owl Beast until I was trapped/killed by Demon Hunters, or petrified by the Emperor's Coven."

"You really didn't think you would get a happy ending?" Raine asked.

"Honestly? Sometimes but only if I cheated my way to it." Eda said, smiling a bit wider as she nuzzled her head into their chest. "But look at me now, this happy ending was earned."

"Yeah... I think you deserve this." Raine said.

'We both do.' Raine thought, hugging their wife close.

"Still... we have to talk about Skara." Eda said.

"Right, about our adopted daughter." Raine said, feeling nervous about the subject.

"She's hurt, she's going to be hurt for a while." Eda said, sighing sadly. "We need to get her some therapy or something."

"And if she doesn't go for it?" Raine asked.

"It's either that or an intervention and we BOTH know that an intervention would only spiral out of control." Eda said blankly. "Like how Luz just up and vanished during hers."

"Well, to be fair... Luz is a god." Raine said while holding up a finger. "Skara would have a lot more problems trying that."

"That girl is a Bard, and yet, she's a natural at elemental magic? Yeah, something tells me she is stronger than she thinks she is." Eda said, glancing at Raine. "Remind you of anyone?"

"Yes, she reminds me of me." Raine said, playfully rolling their eyes.

Putting the joke aside, Eda stared at the ceiling with a new idea coming to mind.

"We really should figure out what her parents were hiding, there's no way that she is that good naturally... I watched her struggle to make fire into snow, and that was just a few months ago, there's no way she became that good that fast." She said to Raine.

"What are you suggesting? We just break into the mansion and search around?" Raine asked.

"Well... technically speaking we're the owners until she turns 18." Eda said, remembering the fine print of the paperwork they both signed.

Raine gave Eda a blank expression, knowing and somewhat hating that Eda was going to use a loophole to snoop through the manor.

"Come on, we've got some time before the people come and clean the place." Eda said.

"But what about Skara? Shouldn't someone be watching her?" Raine asked.

Eda stood up and pulled Raine up before they walked back to Skara's room, seeing her laying on a pile of clothes. Eda made a black spell circle and hit Skara with a sleep spell.

"There. She'll be asleep for about 2 hours, plenty of time to look through the mansion." Eda said with a grin.

"And your anti magic doesn't change that?" Raine asked.

"NOPE. Same principle as a normal sleep spell." Eda said, flexing her hand. "But just in case, make a bard magic mobile to keep her asleep."

Raine sighed, but did it anyway, making Skara sleep much more peacefully, even going as far as sucking her thumb.

"Aw." The parents said.

"Okay, let's go look through dead people's possessions." Eda said.

"Eda the owl lady, the most considerate witch on the Boiling Isles." Raine said, following their wife.
