CHAPTER TWO ; found a new girl and it only took a couple weeks
( officially a freak )

IF ELIZABETH Anderson had known that she'd end up with a week–long suspension for slapping Calvin, she might not have done it.
At least, not as hard.
The suspension itself wasn't too bad, but the lectures that her father gave her were terrible. On the third day of her suspension, she was hiding from his reproachful looks when her twin sister appeared in the doorway of their shared room.
"Dad wants to talk to us," Isabella told Elizabeth.
Elizabeth gave her sister a questioning glance, then went back to her computer. "What for?"
"I don't know," Isabella said.
"Can't you talk to him then tell me what he's decided?"
Isabella fell silent and went back to twirling a strand of long, golden hair. In the quiet, Elizabeth could hear two voices conversing outside, one of which she could recognize as her father's. With a sigh, Isabella turned away. The wooden floor creaked under her footsteps as her retreating figure disappeared from the threshold.
A moment later, Isabella returned, shrugging again. "He wants to talk to you face to face." Elizabeth stood up with a groan, and Isabella added, "There's a guest, and she looks important. You might not want to lash out in front of her. Or at her, for that matter."
"Fine, I'll be there in a moment," Elizabeth muttered.
"I'll go tell them that then," Isabella decided. The door closed behind her.
Elizabeth checked her reflection in her mirror, hoping that she didn't look like she rolled out of bed less than two hours ago ( which she did ). She spent some time examining her tangled medium–length hair before deciding that it was presentable enough. Her hair had looked far more unkempt before.
In the living room, there were three pairs of eyes staring at her. Isabella turned to Elizabeth, her hazel eyes nervous and confused. Their father's light brown ones fell on her outfit and a scowl appeared on his lips. He glanced at the mysterious woman with blue eyes, then turned back to Elizabeth.
"Go back to your room and dress properly. This is utterly insulting to our guest!" he hissed. "Just because you—"
An elegant hand appeared on his shoulder and he faltered.
Elizabeth was holding in a scream when she realized that the woman had stood up from where she sat at the couch. It turned out she was monstrously tall, towering over everyone in the room.
