[Part 5]

It was almost the end of two weeks, and Dante was going crazy with the credit cards Marcy caved in to give. Never having been as rich as I was before, Dante went on a shopping splurge, before he discovered the joy of stuffing himself full with unlimited pizzas. Of course, he blasted a hole through Marcy’s bill, but he didn’t know it was paid by me. I thanked the millions stars above for the day that I decided to put a limit to Marcy’s daily spending, hence limiting Dante’s splurge to five thousand per day maximum. Vergil, however, spent it on silent designers since I stopped him from raiding my closet as if it were his own. Trish DID have a hand in helping him drain me dry, and I realized, after careful asking, that most of the money had been spent for clothes for Trish.

She proclaimed that, as my girlfriend, she had the license to use my money to doll up for my sake, and in that, I couldn’t deny. Daniel often joined Dante on his eating/shopping spree, while Marcy merely ended up wondering how the two of them could finish fifteen large pizzas in one hour, nibbling on one small slice herself.

Me? I was busy working. Since there was nothing more to be done about the mysterious man opening portals, I went back to my empire, working to pay for the daily fifteen pizzas, as well as the result of Vergil’s and Trish’s great shopping experiences.

I forgot about the one important thing entirely, until it was too late. By then, the damage had been done, and I was neck-deep in wondering exactly what I did to deserve everything again.

Dante’s P.O.V

Sitting on the chair that felt more like a cloud to me, I groaned as my stomach churned again, bringing abdominal pains like an invisible had up and decided to whack my stomach with a baseball bat repeatedly.

Vergil looked up at me at the sound I made, a raise of his brow to show his amusement, before his eyes went back down to the book that he had been reading before this. I rolled my back to him, not wanting to see that stupid amusement in his eyes. Was my suffering really his joy? So much for him being my brother.

I groaned again, hugging my abdomen. Never had I thought that pizzas could cause me such a nightmare. It was only fifteen of them! Besides, I had Daniel to help me! Why wasn’t he the one down with stomachache?

“You really need a mother to tell you what to do and not to do, brother?” Vergil asked enquiringly, sounding plainly placating and mocking.

“Shut up!” I yelled back at him. I was still sore that he saw Mother and Father when he was in spirit-form, and I didn’t.

“I guess that is only appropriate. You busted Marcy’s card, and that left you with the pain.” There was no doubt this time; he was taking all sorts of advantages to mock me.

I flipped up the middle finger at him, before I returned to hugging my stomach. It felt as if it were going to completely fall apart if I didn’t hold on to it tight enough.

“I’m gonna die…” I groaned yet again, more of taking the chance to annoy him this time. Vergil needed a reminder that I was the one to kill him a billion times over on the game station.

“Then do us a favor and do it quickly.” He replied, knowing what I was trying to do apparently.

“Go to Hell.” I cursed.

“Been there. Stayed there.” He replied simply, reminding me again exactly who I was dealing with. Seeing Damon again, I forgot exactly the fine difference from my brother and him. It was really a refresher to see Vergil’s traits expressed in a demon-less world, where my brother could be as successful as Damon was. I wasn’t sure if Daniel was a good indicator for me, but he was my replica.
