I couldn't sleep to save my life anymore. All I could focus on was the dull tapping on my window at three in the morning, and the fact I have school tomorrow.

Sighing I stand up and rub my eyes, walking over to see if I couldn't possibly break off the tree branch, so I could go back to counting sheep in peace.

Blinking in shock as I peer out of my window, I could feel my face go slack as I saw there weren't any branches hitting it. Wrinkling my nose in someplace between anger and disgust, I open my window to see if I can find anything else that would make the God forsaken noise.

To my surprise I received a smack in the face with a pebble. Trying to catch it as it bounced off, I watch as it falls to the ground with a small pile of them.

They looked like..... 'Fish pebbles?'

Inching my eyes forward while looking down, I saw bright red ones staring up at me. Choking on my spit a little I slunk back down my wall and put my head in my hands.

"You've got to be kidding me...." I mutter softly, before standing up and yelling quietly, as to not disturb anyone unlike him, "What are you doing here!?"

Clenching my teeth as I heard him laugh him shout back loudly "I'm here for you! Come down here!"

My eyebrows came together as I wince at the sudden loudness that assaults my ears.

"What the Hell, no! It's three in the morning!" I whisper scream back, just wanting to go to bed.

"I know! I've been here since two!" He said, cocky grin full of pride, and UGH! I just wanted to strangle him!

"God.... Gilbert, be quiet people are sleeping! Now tell the real reason you're here!" Scowling lowly at the end of the sentence I glared at him. I wasn't a good person while sleep deprived.

"I need to talk!" He said, still irritatingly loud, but softer than before.

"Couldn't wait till tomorrow, we have school then and a whole class together!" I wrinkled my nose and sighed and he simply shook his head fiercely and made wild gestures for me to come down.

Giving in I shut my window, and put on a shirt, quickly making my way down the steps and to the front door. Silently unlocking it and stepping out, out of the corner of my eye I watch him turn to me with a large grin.

"So you decided to come down and meet me?" He asked smoothly, rolling broad shoulders as he raised an eyebrow.

"You didn't really give me a choice, now can you please hurry this up. I'm exhausted." Ignoring the pleading, semi-whiny tone my voice took on, I stared at him with wide eyes.

I also realize that under the light of a full moon he looks more pale than normal, causing his eyes to pop vividly.

"Okay, so... I have this question." He said almost nervously as if he didn't want to ask it.

"What?"

Maybe I'm a little blunt when I'm tired, okay?

"Will you......" He sighed loudly shoving a hand through his hair and grumbled "Will you be my friend?"

"That's what you interrupted my sleep for? Really Gilbert? Sure. Yeah. I'll be your stupid friend. Can I go back inside now?"

.....

I was tired!

"Dude, really! Awesome!" He chirped immediately perking up, before throwing an arm around me. "Now that we're friends you wanna go out and celebrate?" He chirped, chuckling as I glared at him.

"No, not really. It's three in the morning and WE HAVE SCHOOL TOMORROW!" Raising an eyebrow as he jumped at my harsh tone and nodded, a sheepish grin came on his face.

"I get it shorty, you just want some sleep. I got that. So go up back into your nest like a little bird and sleep!" Watching as he gave me a cheerful grin I began my way back to the house, opening my door before turning and looking behind me.

"Oh, and Gilbert?" I said softly, raising an eyebrow to the albino boy in front of me.

"Yes shorty?"

"Wake me up at this hour again and I'll send my dog after you."

"Yes shorty."
