getting to know you (pt. 2)

After I watched her walk away from me, I couldn't help but notice how sad she looked. I wanted to follow her but I didn't want to upset her more than she already was.

I headed to her mother's house and sat down at the table after Evangeline left but her mom was still here.

Kelsey: you should be at the party...

Gage: I've never been the type to be seen at a party...

Kelsey: this wouldn't have something to do with my daughter would it?

Gage: no ma'am I...

Kelsey: she told me what happened before she left. I know you two didn't hit it off the right way you both first met but that can change if you want it to...

Gage: she told me that I should be grateful for being outside of a jail cell...

Kelsey: I normally don't tell anyone this but when she was nine, her father was arrested for protecting her and myself from someone who wanted to hurt us. I believe that is why she said that to you because she doesn't want others in the same place as her dad is in.

Gage: I guess I should apologize for how I acted...

Kelsey: I know she can be hard to handle but she cares about everyone she hangs around, you'll see that with time, I believe you should get to the party....

I knew that she was suggesting that I go and talk with Evangeline which is what I did, I got a quick shower before I headed to the spot where the others were meeting up at as I looked around for her.

She was sitting with a couple of females when I seen Riley approaching her as he extended his hand for her to take, I watched as she placed her hand in his and she immediately stood up and started dancing along to a slow song that was playing...

I was about to walk away when I felt someone grab my arm before I left, I looked over at them and seen her looking up at me...

Evangeline: you weren't leaving were you?

Gage: no, I was just going to find a place to sit while you were dancing with...

Evangeline: you don't have to lie to me about anything.

Gage: okay fine, can we go somewhere else and talk in private?

Evangeline: sure...

We headed to an old abandoned building and I helped her inside so we could talk.

Evangeline: I forgot how small this place is.

Gage: it is a little crowded in here, do you want to go somewhere else?

Evangeline: no, this place is okay. What did you want to talk about..?

Gage: I was wondering if we could try again and maybe get to know each other the right way...

Evangeline: I would like that...

Gage: okay...

After we left the building we hung out in the barn at her mom's place and spent the rest of the night talking about our likes and dislikes but we heard Riley in the barn calling for her which she seen what he wanted.
