Two weeks passed since the day I heard the news of Evie losing her child and it broke my heart seeing how upset she was. She had since been here helping take care of her brother's house while he was away on tour, I noticed that she come here alone and I knew that this would be my only chance to tell her how I felt about her.

I looked around the house for her but she wasn't around and I was about to call her when I heard a loud crashing sound coming from the horse barn, I rushed over there as fast as I could and seen one of the horses kicking the stall while she was up in the loft.

Brantley: what's going on...?

Evangeline: there's a huge snake down there, I seen it in   the stall with red...

I looked for the snake after taking red out to the pasture and seen that it was dead, my only guess is that he stepped on it...

Brantley: it's dead, you can come down.

I watched as she started climbing down the ladder and seen it break which made her lose her footing and I caught her before she fell.

Brantley: I got you darling...

I felt her hands rest on my shoulders after I gently grabbed her waist and seen her look in my eyes after I put her down...

Evangeline: thanks Brantley...

Brantley: you're welcome cutie...

I walked out of the barn and made sure red didn't get bit by the snake before I took it to the woods and left it there to rot. I watched as she hosed down red just in case he had got to hot from the ordeal he went through and that's when I took the chance to tell her the truth.

Evangeline: is everything okay Brantley? You're normally more talkative.

Brantley: everything is fine I just...

I took the hose from her after she turned the water off and I pulled her towards me then placed my lips on hers and although I knew she was dating him, she deserved better than that. She deserved someone that could protect her better...

Evangeline: Brantley I...

Brantley: I have always loved you Evie...

Evangeline: why didn't you say something sooner...?

I knew that she was right but I didn't want to scare her away before because she was still young and I didn't know how to tell her back than. I picked her up and carried her to the house and towards the bedroom where I made love to her. After I finished I felt her body trembling under me and I gently held her in my arms while I kissed her soft lips and felt her kiss back.

Evangeline: we shouldn't have did this...

Brantley: what's the worst that could happen...?

Evangeline: I'm dating Gage...

Brantley: you have a choice to make now Evie, who do you want to be with. Me or him...?

I felt her place her head against my chest and I knew she was thinking about what I just said, I made her look at me and kissed her again and like before she kissed back.
