Two months passed since I last seen my brother or the other two, I had started college after I kept my promise to my brother and he told the world that I was his sister which got me noticed by a couple of places that photographed models and I soon became a celebrity.

I moved to California so I could be closer to the place I worked, I hadn't made any friends since I got here but there was a sweet elderly lady that made sure I ate something everyday. I watched as Sierra walk out of her bedroom while she rubbed one of her eyes.

Evangeline: good morning baby girl...

Sierra: mommy, can I have pancakes?

Evangeline: sure you can.

I made her a couple of pancakes while she watched cartoons. I had been taking notes for one of my classes when I heard a knock on the door and seen Brantley standing there holding a few flowers in his hand...

Evangeline: hey BG, what are you doing here...?

Brantley: I was in the area and thought I would come visit you and Sierra...

Evangeline: come inside...

Brantley: these are for you...

He handed me the flowers and walked inside while he closed the door behind him.

Evangeline: thank you for the flowers, they're beautiful.

Brantley: you're welcome Evie, so how are you doing?

Evangeline: doing good, how are you doing?

Brantley: can't complain, Dustin sends his love. That boy is a pain in the ass though...

Evangeline: I'm surprised Dustin hasn't made him leave yet...

Brantley: he's doing a good job taking care of the ranch but he hasn't changed since you left, I think his attitude is worser than before...

Evangeline: I can imagine that it has, he is quick tempered whenever he calls to talk with his sister.

Brantley: so he gets an attitude with you?

Evangeline: yeah and I guess it's cause I'm taking care of her and he doesn't have a way to take care of her.

Brantley: well you are her legal guardian now and he needs to respect you since you are taking care of her.

Evangeline: well he doesn't look at it that way, he's upset with me because I moved here...

Brantley: well I hope things work out between you two, I hate rushing off but I have to head to the studio but I will see you later...

Evangeline: take care of yourself BG...

Brantley: you too, love ya girl...

Evangeline: love you too Brantley...

I watched as he walked out of the door after he kissed Sierra on the top of her head. I finished the rest of the class notes and headed to work, I knew she enjoyed coming to work with me since there was a play area available and she immediately headed there after we walked inside.

I had made a friend here and she made sure Sierra was looked after while I worked. I was about to place an order for a customer when I seen him walking inside and looked at me.

Gage: where is she...?

Evangeline: we will talk when I take a break.

Gage: how long?

Evangeline: thirty minutes I promise then we will talk...

After I got a break we sat down and talked...

Evangeline: so what's on your mind?

Gage: I come to get my sister and take her back to your brother's place, I'm tired of seeing her over a video call along with her being with you instead of her real family.

Evangeline: I understand that she needs to be with her real family but you said it yourself that you didn't want to take her away from the very thing that she loves. She still believes that I'm her mother Gage and I don't want to break her heart...

Gage: you're not her damn mother Evangeline and you need to tell her the truth instead of letting her believe a lie...

Evangeline: I refuse to see her cry, you can tell her the truth about how her brother is selfish and doesn't care about other people's feelings...

Gage: call it what you want but I'm thinking about her future and how it will effect her when she learns that you're not related to her...

Sierra: mommy, I'm hungry...

Evangeline: I will get you something in a minute sweetheart.

Gage: tell her the truth...

Evangeline: fine. Sierra come here please sweetie...

I watched as she walked over to me and climbed on my lap while she watched the other kids playing...

Evangeline: I'm afraid that you're going to have to stay with your brother for a little while honey...

Sierra: why mommy...?

Gage: Sierra look at me...

I seen her look at him and I felt the tears slowly leave my eyes...

Gage: she's not your mother and I come to take you home with me...

Sierra: where's my mommy...?

Gage: our mom can't take care of you anymore but I will take care of you from now on...

Sierra: but we can still visit her can't we...? She's crying...

Gage: I'm sorry but we can't visit her anymore Sierra...

I looked and seen the tears fall on my pants and felt her gently rest her head against my shoulder while I cried.

Gage: I know you think the world of her Evangeline but you need to realize that she's not related to you at all...

Evangeline: I have realized that Gage, but you're breaking the promise you made to me and think about how it's going to make her feel when she realizes that I'm not there for her anymore...

Gage: damn it Evangeline, you're not listening to me.

Sierra: don't talk to her like that!

Gage: get her things and we will leave...

I walked inside and grabbed her back pack which had a few of her things and handed it to him, I gave her a hug before they left and I felt like someone ripped my heart out of my chest...

Maddie: is everything okay Evangeline...?

Evangeline: no, Sierra will no longer be living with me.

Maddie: what happened...?

Evangeline: her brother come to take her home with him...

Maddie: I'm sorry honey. I hope things work out where you can see her again...
