Chapter Sixty

Third Person's Point of View

“y-you killed my g-grandfather?”

The silence was too loud, it was as if the night suddenly appeared in the daytime. The silence was so painful to hear along with the sobs that came from the queen. The shock and the disappointment was clearly evident in the eyes of the beholder, it didn’t go unnoticed as it struck the queen’s heart, breaking it.

“M-Magnus―”

There was a cut off, a cut off where it allowed the both of them cry; where it allowed both of them express the anger and guilt that was built inside their hearts. Pure anger and hatred was felt, the love subsided.

The stares of love that was once evident….. didn’t appeared at that moment, as hatred agony, and anger became the replacement of the love and admiration they felt and left. The anger was overflowing, and the pain was seen as the queen dropped on her knees, crying.

“M-Magnus…. I-I’m s-sorry―”

The hold was tried but got tired as dismay and disappointment ruled her mind when Magnus avoided her hands. One look from Magnus made her heart dropped, made her life in shambles.

Magnus looked at her in the eye, face stoic, eyes screaming danger. “what did you do to my grandfather?” his voice was calm, chest heaving as he had trouble in breathing. “please tell me, a-anong ginawa mo?” he begged, hand clasped together as he looked at Crystal,  sincerely asking.

A shook of the head was the response, couldn’t formulate a single word as she once again tried to hold his hand, treating it as the only chance to fix what’s been broken. “h-hindi ko s-sinasadya―”

A curse was heard making Crystal bow her head, guilt eating her up, making her weak and couldn’t stand. She stared at Magnus who’s face buried in his palms, crying as he stepped back from her.

Like a racing car, she was fast, fast on standing her knees as she stopped Magnus from leaving. Holding his hands, begging him to stay as he cling on his back. “patawarin mo ‘ko, hindi ko s-sinadya, hindi ko a-alam…”

“you killed my grandfather."

it was distinct, it was sure, it was like a thunderbolt that crashed her whole.

"hindi ko sinasadya, Magnus. Please believe me, h-hindi ko a-alam—"

"anong ginawa mo sa lolo ko?" he finally faced her, eyes no longer showing expressions as he held Crystal's hand, stepping back from her hold. "did you torture him? binaril mo sa ulo? paano?! paano mo pinatay ang lolo ko?!"

"hindi ko alam!"

"hindi mo alam?! paanong hindi mo alam?!"

she flinched, couldn't look at his boyfriend in the eyes as she just continued shaking her head, couldn't reply. "M-Magnus, p-please patawarin m-mo 'k-ko.. gagawin ko lahat basta patawarin mo lang ako. I'll do everything just please d-don't.."

"d-don't l-leave me.."

she heard a scream, a scream of pain as he sobbed in front of her shaking his head. "Crystal please, a-anong g-ginawa mo sa l-lolo ko? nasaan ang l-lolo ko.. please ituro mo saakin, sabihin mo naman p-please.."

but Crystal didn't budged, only sobbing as she sobbed while holding his hand, her life depending on it.

"k-kasi m-mababaliw na 'ko kakaisip kung paano mo nagawa saakin 'to."

her breath hitched, her eyes watered once again as he gaze at Magnus who cupped her cheeks. "am I a bad boyfriend?"

"n-no.."

"did I do something wrong to you? n-nasaktan ba kita? did I offend you?"

she shook her head, staring at the eyes of her lover as she gently cupped his cheeks. her lips quivered, unable to utter a word.

"may n-naging p-pagkukulang b-ba ako—"

"w-wala—"

"then why?!"

"I was hoping for you to deny it, Crystal. nanalangin ako na sana hindi, na sana hindi mo pinatay ang lolo ko. I prayed—I begged that I heard it wrong kasi h-hindi ko kakayanin, h-hindi ko kayang t-tanggapin—"

"M-Magnus, h-hindi ko s-sinasadya—"

"h-hindi nga ba?"

Crystal was caught off guard. she froze on her spot as she bit her lower lip, lowering her head.

"f-forgive me—"

"I hoped you asked if kaya ko ba." he stopped speaking like there's a lump on his throat that prevents him from continuing. "if kaya ko pa bang patawarin ka.."

nervousness and fear crept to her body, making her scared when Magnus stood up.

"mahal na mahal kita."

it made the both of them stopped functioning, the other was guilty while the other was feeling nothing but anger in his whole body.

it was nothing, it was supposed to be not difficult to say it back but it did. the three words could no longer be said.

'I love you'

it was supposed to be the reply, the sweetest reply from Magnus because he still loves her fully, but it came out different as he stared at her eyes, completely lost with the agony. "l-leave.."

from there, he realized, that the three words that was once easy to say, that one was special for the both them.... can no longer be said and portray.

"no, no! h-hindi, w-walang a-aalis.. h-hindi mo ko iiwan.. y-you promised, please....d-don't leave  m-me..."

it was sudden, how Crystal begged on her knees, how she embraced Magnus' legs to stop him from leaving; how she didn't budged from the hold; how she begged and sorrowed.

"d-don't leave me please, d-don't give up on me... wag mo kong s-sukuan... I'll do anything, g-gagawin ko lahat basta 'wag kang umalis.. I'll be a better girlfriend, I-I'll q-quit being the queen just p-please d-dont leave me—"

"C-Crystal.." he can no longer breath, still crying as he tried his hardest to stop Crystal from kneeling. "d-don't d-do this please... don't make it difficult for m-me—"

"y-you can h-hurt me, saktan mo 'ko, iganti mo please.... murahin mo 'ko! Tatanggapin ko lahat basta 'wag mo lang akong i-iwan—"

"C-Crystal, t-tama na.."

Leo called out, crying as he held Crystal's shoulders, preventing her from embracing, from begging.

"I'll be g-good... just p-please, f-fulfill your p-promise.... don't l-leave me.. I can bear it all just please....stay.. "

she was pathetic, she knows but he can't bear seeing him leave as the promises stays in her heart and couldn't be forgotten.

but as soon as Magnus found the way out of her embrace, she knew, she knew that begging isn't necessary anymore; that he already made his decision to no longer stay and be with her forever.

"Magnus!!"

with the last call, she hold unto the chance that her life will be back but just like everyone else, he didn't; he finally didn't returned and finally went back to his tracks.

the promises could no longer be fulfilled as she watched Magnus' back, slowly leaving her, slowly leaving her life.

as she stared at the ring, a smile appeared on her lips as she hugged Leo and sobbed along with him. "h-he l-left.."

the red string that connects the both of them could no longer be felt as she was sure, that it broke the moment he left.

But she's sure, she's certain that it will reconnect as nothing and no one can stop her from tying it back together again.
