Kagami crouched slightly, waiting for Aizawa sensei's go-ahead before she could let her excitement get the best of her. A giddy grin was on her face as she and Katsuki glared at each other eagerly, ready to fight.
"Start!"
They flew at each other before he got to the last letter, not easy to follow with just the eyes. They clashed, a huge blast resounding through the grounds, accompanied by a bright flash of light.
Bakugō had made the first move, Aizawa sensei noted.
"He's going to kill her.", one student mumbled. He didn't notice who had said it, but he felt the same way almost immediately. However, he watched on in silence, knowing better than to judge too early.
"Die!", Bakugō belowed, causing another large explosion before the dust could even settle. He was propelled into the air by the impact, causing Aizawa sensei's heart to almost stop as he thought of the girl. If it did that to him then what of Akiyama?
The class watched in anticipation, a solemn silence ringing loud in their ears.
"Try again!", Akiyama shouted as she flew up from the dust, right bellow Bakugō, having made use of his explosion to do so. She seemed to be covered in something dark, like a void, lacking any light, that hugged her form tightly. It was so dark that it seemed sureal with its hazy appearance.
"No way!", Kirishima yelled, just as the girl landed a punch square in Bakugō's jaw. He was propelled even higher into the air, before flipping and forcing himself to fall. He landed perfectly in a crouching position, all the way across the grounds.
With a grunt, the boy went for her again, and Aizawa sensei realised too late that he had paired up the wrong people. However, honestly, they were the only ones he could think of that wouldn't really get hurt no matter how powerful their quirks were. He was just glad that they were the last ones for the day.
He observed keenly, keeping in mind the quirks of both Akiyama's parents. For now, she had only used dark matter manipulation, which worked like a black hole to absorb the impact of Bakugō's first two attacks. It also absorbed almost all the rubble around them, though Aizawa sensei thought it unintentional. However, Bakugō was not an idiot, he wasn't overusing his quirk so that it was exhausted. So he was able to last quite a while until Akiyama switched to light matter manipulation.
The void-like thing that seemed to hug her turned a hazy white so stark that it was blinding.
Bakugō sent in multiple explosions, but this time, they the were repelled, flying right back at him immediately. Along with this, a whole bunch of rubble went flying at boy from the matter on Akiyama's body. He repelled most of the asault with his explosions, effectively sending a large gust of hot wind blowing through the arena.
It acted just like a white hole, Aizawa sensei realised. In all his years of schooling with Ayai, he had never seen her use the quirk like this. This was different, but he understood how it was possible.
The girl easily switched to dark martter manipulation once again, absorbing the rubble that flew at her and breaking it down into pure, chaotic energy. She suddenly switched again, deactivating the matter manipulation and replacing it with light wave production.
Bakugō sent explosions downwards, sending thick walls of earth and rubble into the air just in time to stop the laser-like assault from reaching him. It was all disintegrated in seconds, before Kagami stopped it, opting for matter manipulation once again.
The match ended up being super long, and they tied after Aizawa sensei finally decided he had seen enough. Everyone was sent back to the changing rooms, where they changed back into their uniforms.
