On the plane, I sat by a window, and no one sat beside me. That was fine with me. I swung my feet up on the seat and leaned against the wall behind me. For awhile, I read the Hunger Games book for the third time, (it never gets old!), then I slept for the rest of the way.

"Buckle your seatbelt, we are landing soon", the flight attendant announced. I was almost in California. I packed all my things into my backpack and buckled my seatbelt. 20 minutes later, we landed. I quickly got off the plane and luckily, getting my bags didn't take long. I found the sitting room and called my dad.

"Hello?"

"Hey dad! Just landed, where are you?"

"Just leaving. Be there in 15!"

"Alright see you then!"

"Bye! Love you!"

"Bye dad, uhm, love you too!.."

It was so weird talking to my dad after so many years. I wonder what he looks like, what the house it like, or if he has a new wife. There were so many questions like that floating in my head. But the one I couldn't stop wondering about is whether or not he would like me.

25 minutes later, I was in a black Sierra truck with my things in the back. But I was with someone I barely remember. Atleast 6 feet, dirty blonde hair like mine, and a brown mustache. He and I actually looked quite alike. We both had vibrant green eyes, chubby cheeks, and irregularly small ears. It was pretty clear I got my height from my mom, while I stood at 5'5".

"How was your flight?" dad said, clearly trying to make this less awkward.

"Ahh, good. Long, but I slept almost the whole way." He chuckled at that. Ed Sheerans song Goldrush came on the radio. I looked over at my dad not knowing whether or not to turn the volume up or not. He must've seen me and said "Turn it up, if you'd like". So I did.

"Remember the time when we were in school listening to grown-ups? Didn't learn a thing, but then again, you know what? You know how to sing, but you don't know anything other than that, so maybe you should learn to love her..." I sang.

"You're a good singer Billy", dad said smiling at me. "Thanks!", I said. Before the song was over we pulled into the driveway of a huge house. My mouth dropped open and I heard dad laugh at me.

"Is this your house?!" I ask him.

"No, this is OUR house!". he said.

This made me smile. We got out of the truck, but I was still looking at the house. It had atleast 3 floors, a huge yard, a gorgeous garden with some of the most amazing flowers I have ever seen. There were lots of windows and even a balcony on the side, facing the house right beside it. I really hoped that would be my room but I didn't want to ask for too much.

The house was beautiful. All dark brown leather furniture in the livingroom, a 50" tv on the wall, and pale blue walls. The kitchen had a big island in the middle of the room. Pretty much everything was a dark brown wood; The cabinets, the stools, the dining room table and chairs, and the pantry. I was right when I thought there was 3 floors. A finished basement with pool and pingpong tables. There was even another livingroom and bathroom down there! The second floor had the living room and kitchen, and the third floor were all the bedrooms. Dad led me up the stairs to my room. When I opened the door, I was shocked! There was a few of my old things from moms, like my paintings, my zebra curtains, and my homework desk, but everything else was new! A new bed, with zebra blankets and pillows all over, a walk-in closet, a white mat on the hardwood floor beside my bed, and, best of all, the balcony! I walked out onto the balcony, and saw the house beside us also had one. The were really close together. Almost close enough to climb onto the next...

"So, what do you think about the house, Billy?" dad said snapping me out of my thoughts.

"I love it dad!! Thank you so much! But, I think I may go to sleep now", I said giving him a hug.

"Alright, goodnight. I love you!"

"Love you too!", I said climbing into my bed. I fell asleep with a smile on my face.
