I'll miss you

Dani’s P.O.V

I woke up the morning after dinner and a movie with Leah. I was lying in bed; I had such a good time last night. I smiled to myself just thinking about it. Then I heard a notification on my phone. I grabbed it from the side table and looked at it. It’s a text off Leah.

Leah- I enjoyed last night. Thanks for tucking me in x

Dani- I enjoyed it too. It’s ok, couldn’t have you sleeping on the sofa could I x

Dani- Am I going to see you today? X

Leah- My flight is in a couple of hours. I’m just about to leave to go to the airport x

Dani- Oh Ok. Have a good flight. Let me know when you get there. I’ll speak to you soon x

Leah- I will. I’ll miss you x

Dani- I’ll miss you too beautiful x

I knew that Leah would be travelling for probably about a day and a half as Australia is the other side of the world. I trained hard over the next couple of days. I didn’t see anyone outside of London Colney. I haven’t really spoken to anyone either.

I got home from my Friday session at 3pm. I showered and put some joggers and Leah’s hoodie on.

I knew that all I was doing for the rest of the day and night was chilling on the sofa. Not long after I lay down on the sofa someone started calling my phone. I groan but I reached over to get my phone off the table. I look at it and it’s a face time call from Leah. I accepted the call. As soon as I saw her face appear on the screen I smiled and I said “Hi”

She smiled back and said “Hi, you look tired”

“Yeah, I am. Been rehabbing hard the last couple of days” I said

She said “don’t push yourself too hard. We don’t want you re-injuring yourself. Soon as the best player can’t play, we have to have our second best player on the pitch”

I laughed and said “wow a compliment and insult in one statement”

“I just speak the truth ba” Leah said

We both knew what she was going to say but I let it drop because I felt like she wasn’t ready for it and I don’t want to push. I said “yeah. Maybe”

“Where you watching the game tomorrow?” She asked

“Probably just at Colney. I have rehab, I don’t have a day off until Sunday” I said

“What you doing Sunday” she asked

“With how hard I have been training, I’m probably just going to chill at home. I’m still trying to sort out the house when I have time. Just one room at a time” I said

Leah said “you will get there with it. If you want. I’ll help when I can when I get back”

I smile and I said “thanks Le” then I realised the time and I said “what time is it over there?”

“It’s almost 1am” Leah said

I asked “you got jetlag?”

She said “yeah, a bit. I am tired but I wanted to talk to you before I went to sleep”

“You’re cute” I said

“I can be sometimes” she said

“Try all the time” I said

Leah smiled and said “I really should try and sleep. I have a long day tomorrow”

I said “ok. Text me when you can or you can call me. Up to you”

“I will. Night Dani” Leah said

I said “Night cutie” with a smile.

She smiled and ended the call.
