The prison was practically empty now as everyone had packed making it look like they'd left "Oh god!" Maggie gasped from her seat in the tower seeing both the Dixons pratically dragging Phoebe in between them.
She sprinted down the steps "It's them!" the others rushed to the gates opening them just in time for the trio to run in.
"What happened?" Hershel demanded doing a quick over view as Oscar moved forward lifting Phoebe up moving her to the table.
"We hit the Governor head on, killed most of his men before the ones left shot at us while they made their escape" Merle answered sitting opposite Phoebe as Carol attended to his shoulder that was burning from use.
"Did you kill him?" Michonne glared watching Hershel start to stitch Phoebe up after Beth handed him a kit.
Phoebe was looking at them but they could all see she wasn't there, the peaceful far away look in her eyes made that clear. It wasn't until Hershel started stitching the graze on her torso as best as he could that she hissed.
Her head snapping towards him curls smacking Oscar in the face where he had been crouched next to her, Hershel had never seen Phoebe look so angry, she looked moments away from killing him before her face relaxed.
"Oh good, we made it back" she gave him a weak smile and he felt his heart slow down to a normal rate at the familar expression.
Rick moved forward and grabbed her tightly being careful not to get in Hershel's way "Don't you ever do that again!" he whispered into her hair before he pulled back grazing a scratch on her cheek with the back of his fingers but she didn't wince.
She'd been forced to endure worse.
"Don't keep things from me and i won't have to" she waved him off.
"The Governor did this?" He asked eyes not leaving hers and she slowly came back to the world of the living.
"I couldn't get a shot but we injured most of his men, he left them to the walkers and ended up leaving with five or six, he'll be coming here with mainly civilians Rick" she pulled back looking slightly crazed "We can't kill them"
"The others told me your plan and it's brilliant, we all decided to carry it through" Phoebe nodded and turned when her nephew fell into the seat next to her gripping her arm tightly.
"You and Merle will have to go with Hershel" Rick stated looking around.
"No" her voice caused everyone to look back at her.
"Phoebe you've been shot. I cannot in good faith allow you to stay here" Hershel finished packing away his bag.
"No" she shook her head "This needs to be done now, I'll be in a storage closet with Oscar, i won't be running and both my arms are still operational"
"Phoebe" she looked up at Daryls rough bark.
"No Dare, we don't have time to argue about this! I've been patched up. Hershel am i still bleeding?" she turned to the older man who shook his head hesitantly "Am i incapible of using my arms?" he shook his head once more.
"Then i'll be carrying out my part as i had planned and that's final now lets get going he could be here any moment"
"You're one tough bitch you know that doll" Merle moved forward helping her stand the shit eating smirk on his face made her shake her head smiling slightly.
"Yeah well we gotta be now" she gently shook him off limping slightly towards Oscar as they moved into the prison.
Once everyone was in their positions, the vulnerable were away all they had to do was wait and they didn't have to wait long because about an hour later they had arrived.
