BROOKLYN squinted at the dense thicket of trees ahead, her voice echoing faintly in the crisp morning air. "Who's idea was that?" she questioned, shifting her weight onto her other foot. The four friends had agreed to meet at the edge of the forest, a place they hadn't visited in years. It was Emily's suggestion, of all people, to walk to The Kissing Rock.

Hanna glanced around, her eyes darting from one shadow to the next. "We could go somewhere else, maybe like a mall," she suggested, her voice carrying a hint of uncertainty.

Spencer.....

She was the smartest person in the group, the most hard working person Brooklyn ever met.

"Hanna can you just -," Spencer said firmly, pointing to a large boulder in the distance. "That's the half way point. We've got to keep going."

Aria took a deep breath, her eyes lingering on the tree that stood tall and proud beside the narrow path. "You remember the tree?" she asked, her voice filled with a nostalgia that seemed to thicken the air around them.

Spencer nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "We were here every day," she said, her eyes misting over with memories.

But as they took a step forward, something rustled in the bushes to their left. "What was that?" Hanna whispered, her eyes wide with fear. The other three friends stopped in their tracks, their smiles fading.

Brooklyn shrugged it off. "It was probably just a rabbit or something," she said, trying to keep her voice steady. But the air was thick with tension, and the rustling grew louder.

Hanna shouted "Hallo!" into the brush, her voice trembling slightly. The noise stopped abruptly, leaving an eerie silence that seemed to stretch on forever. They all looked at each other, the question of whether they should proceed hanging in the air like mist before dawn.

"It's a rabbit," Brooklyn said again, her tone more assertive this time. "It's not gonna answer, Hanna. Let's just keep moving."

As they continued down the path, the tension grew with each step. The leaves crunched beneath their feet, a rhythmic soundtrack to their unease. Suddenly, their phones buzzed in unison, the screens lighting up with a message from an unknown number.

"𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐮𝐩 𝐁𝐅𝐅'𝐬,𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐡𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 -𝐀"

Aria gasped, her hand flying to her chest. "Is that an Alison bracelet?" she asked, pointing at the glint of metal peeking out from the underbrush. The other girls froze, their eyes following the direction of her trembling finger.
