IT WAS ANOTHER sleepless night for Brooke it happened more these days .The faint glow of the moonlight filtered through the curtains, casting long shadows across her messy room.She tossed and turned, her mind racing with thoughts of the days ahead.She yawned, rolled over,and stretched, feeling the tension in her shoulders begin to ease.Just as she was about to drift off to sleep, her phone buzzed on the nightstand.It was a text from her best friend,Hanna.Her heart skipped a beat as she glanced at the screen. The message read,
"SOS -meet me at my house -Hanna "
She threw on a pair of jeans and a hoodie slipped into her sneakers and grabbed her keys.The neighborhood was quiet as she hurried down the sidewalk,her breath forming little clouds in the cold night air.The moon hung low in the sky, casting eerie shadows across the empty streets.
After unlocking Hanna's door, Brooke bolted up the stairs and opened Hanna's room door, and her head swung immediately. "It took you ages"
"Hanna it was like five minutes"Brooklyn chuckled and sat on the bed beside her.
"Can you please read the note now ?"Emily sighed and took a seat in the corner of her bed.
Hanna's eyes skimmed over the words,her heart beginning to race."Emily,i am so sorry for everything.I know we had a disconnect lately i hope it gave me a chance to explain"She cleared her throat, rying to steady her voice. "I have to show you something,don't call my cell phone someone stole it. Meet me at -"
"Meet me where ?"Aria leaned in,her eyes growing with curiosity.
"I don't know,i can't tell" Hanna furrowed her brow and attempted to interpret the note."It looks like it's been washed out by rain"
"Are we sure that this is from Maya?" Spencer turned to face Emily,who was seated next to her.
Without hesitation, Emily said "Positive"
"I wonder what she wanted to show you"stated Brooklyn,her voice laced with concern
"I mean the police have said all along that she probably found something that proved that Garrett killed Ali"Aria said sitting on the floor her legs crossed
"Which is why she was killed" Hanna looked up at her friends, seeing the mix of emotions on their faces.
"Okey guys we need to slow down"Spencer saw Emily was upset and made an effort to diffuse the situation."We have no idea when Maya wrote that note and it could have been any time Emily moved in here with you"
"Looks like there is date on the top right corner look" Brooklyn handed the crumpled paper to Spencer.
"Oh my god"Emily realized,and gasped. "Maya wrote it when the day she died"
