Can't Argue With That

"Hey babe," Louis says walking into the living room, "Is it okay if I invite a friend over?"

"Course," Natalie answers sitting up and turning to face him, "It's your house, you don't have to ask me."

"It's our house darling. I just wanted to check before I said anything to him," he explains, sitting down on the coffee table in front of her.

"Thank you," she says, leaning forward to peck his lips, "So, who's coming over?"

"Oli," he mumbles as he finishes up his text message.

Right, so just his very best friend. Natalie doesn't feel that pressure of that at all. She's totally not silently freaking out right now at all.

"Oh cool. It'll be nice to finally put a face to the name," she says causally, but lets her insecurity out despite herself, "Do you think he'll like me?"

"Course and if he doesn't I'll kick him out," he teases with a shrug.

"Lou," she whines, "I'm serious."

"Me too," he says cheekily, kissing her. "He has no reason not to like you love. It's going to be fine."

She huffs, but resigns. It likely will be fine and worrying isn't going to help her. "Well, what should I make us for dinner then?" She asks.

"We could order out if you want," he offers.

"What kind of house wife would I be then?" She asks, sauntering away from him and moving toward the kitchen.

"Hey, hey," he says rushing up to her and pulling her back by the wrist. "You can't just tempt me with forever and then walk away."

She hums, close enough to him that she can feel his heart beating against her chest. He's teasing her, she knows that, but she also knows him well enough to be able to see through that. She can see a hint of insecurity in the way his eyes dart back and forth between hers and the way he only lightly holds onto her hip like he's unsure.

She never thought she could promise someone forever. She always wondered how anyone is supposed to be so sure of the future. She knows no one can, but he makes her want to do it anyway. She always thought so logically and then she fell for something of a dreamer boy. A romantic with a heart as big as his entire body.

"Who said I was tempting you? Maybe I'm giving you forever," she says.

"Oh my gosh," he says faux dramatically, pulling back from her and waving his hands in front of his face. "Did you just propose to me?"

"Not quite," she chuckles and kisses his cheek because he's just so endearing. "It's a bit too soon for that."

"Well anyway," he says, his cheeks an adorable shade of pink, "Are you serious though about this like maybe one day?"

"Yeah Lou I am," she says seriously, "I think I'll just have to give you my forever."

"Works out well, you already have mine," he says against her lips, "And I was thinking pasta."

Their kiss is interrupted by the wide smile that makes its way onto her lips, "Way to ruin the moment," she chuckles.

"Well, it just came to me," he shrugs.

She raises her eyebrows, "You think of pasta when you kiss me?"

"I do love it and I love you so," he says casually.

"Yeah, yeah. Love you too," she says and walks into the kitchen to start making some pasta sauce.

"Thanks wifey," Louis jokes and winks at her as he heads into the bathroom to shower.
