Since Fred is currently sealed in my mother's ring, I thought there would be no more shadows to bother me.

Well, I was wrong.

This shadow was much taller and very distracting to the female population. It almost made me want to trade out Fred and return this giant to his rightful owner.

When Alex followed me to my dorm room to collect my stuff, I had told him numerous times that there was nothing to return for. He didn't believe me. When he opened my door, he was shocked to find the dorm room to be as bland as his personality.

"Where's the rest of your things?"

"Besides the toothbrush and roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. There's nothing in here." I answered flatly. Most of my things were loaned or graciously gifted from Jenna, and whatever the school picked up from my aunt and uncle. The look on his face questioned why he bothered to come. He knew I was right. It was stupid to come back here in the first place. He just won't admit it.

"Didn't your parents...never mind." He stopped as I raised an eyebrow, waiting for him to continue. "We can go shopping this weekend." He pinched the bridge of his nose, appearing too tired to even ask about my family situation. It was clear he had more significant issues to deal with, me being one of them. The look on his face was my expression when Fred was talking to me. At least we had one thing in common.

"So, what's Vlad saying?" I asked as I opened the door. I wanted to leave the dormitory as soon as possible before more students gawked at the famous level A student.

"What made you think Vlad was talking to me?" He looked down at me curiously.

"Because you look tired as hell," I answered, making long strides to keep up with his pace as we walked down the main hall. I mentally took note that Giants walk faster than typical humans.

I felt like I had to jog just to keep up with him.

"Soul eaters can do that." He yawned, stopping at an elevator that I had never seen before. I have walked this hall many times with Jenna. There was never an elevator here. If there was an option to take the elevator to the first period, I am going to be livid.

"The elevator doesn't appear to lower-level students." He stated, his lips curling to a smile as he pressed the button.

"That's stupid," I muttered as I watched the elevator doors slide open, revealing gold metal and dark red velvety walls. I stood in the corner of the elevator, noticing the buttons on the side were labeled A, B, C, and D. Was this the only way to get to level A classes? The layout of the elevator appearing out of nowhere didn't make any sense to me.

"Question?"

"Hmm..." He mumbled, slightly opening his eyes as he leaned against the wall.

"Is the elevator magic?" I asked, wondering if it could take us anywhere in the world.'Maybe I could even get out of this school?'I thought.

"The elevator has always been there. A barrier was placed over it so only level A students could see it," he said, lifting his head as the elevator dinged a loud noise.

"I remembered you guys saying 'barrier.' Thought you guys were playing Dungeon and Dragons." I shrugged as I followed Alex to what appeared to be a lobby. The floor was white marble compared to Level D classes' cheap wooden flooring. Did the Headmaster pour all the budgeting into Level A? Talk about favoritism. Level D was the middle child compared to the other levels from all the funding they received.

"If I remembered correctly, you called us South Park goths?" He raised an eyebrow as if I was going to recant my statement.

"Well, you were dressed in a black jacket and black pants." My eyes swept over his outfit, finding my answer was still the same.
