NOT EXACTLY INCOGNITO
"I know what you're thinking. 'What is this? The eight billionth time he's run this clip?' But what I'm doing is trying to wake you up!"
Turn and look at the person next to you, my friend. How do we know that he or she isn't an alien?" I creased my eyebrows as I listened to the man on the T.V., my hand subconsciously moving towards the remote to turn it off.
"When will the almighty Justice League find a way to scan for these aliens? Sure, we know the League provides safe haven for a Martian, and Kryptonian," G. Gordon Godfrey spat from the television, saying the alien names like they were poison in his mouth.
"But what if that's not all? What if the Amazons came from outer space? Or the Atlanteans? How do we know Flash isn't really an alien? Or Hawkman? Or Icon? What's the League hiding from the real Earthlings, like-" Then the televison was off, and I found that the remote is in Mal's hands.
I turned around on the sofa and faced him.
"That stuffy Brit doesn't know when to shut his mouth." Mal said grimly, as he placed the remote in my hands.
"Why isn't anyone shutting him up?" I asked. I felt my face scrunch up in disgust.
"Because he's been on that show since, like, before you were even born." Mal said on his way back to the kitchen.
"But can't the League shut him up or something?" I pushed.
Mal continued. "Nope. Freedom of speech and all that jazz." I scowled at the television and switch it back on. "You better change the channel," Mal warned me. I smiled and moved my finger to change the channel.
Suddenly, the intercom comes on. "Blizzard. Report for mission briefing in seven minutes."
I felt my stomach tumble in anxiety as I stood up. Suddenly I felt like my stomach was in my shoes.
Mal's eyes widened. "When did you join the Team, Snow-Queen? This your first mission?"
I chuckled at the nick-name. "Joined yesterday. I got a suit and everything. Robin and Beast-Boy named my alter-ego." Feeling particularly humorous, I stroke a superhero pose, outstretching my arm as if unleashing my powers onto the forces of evil.
"Evildoers, beware to be frozen in fear!" I cried.
Mal laughed heartily, and pushed me towards the door of the living room.
"Don't want to keep evil waiting then, Blizzard. You have six minutes." He jokes. I gave him a face before running as fast as I could to my room.
I threw open my closet and grabbed the new suit from a drawer. I pulled on the suit quickly, and smoothed out any creases on the body suit with my palms.
I hum a cheesy show tune as I run to the Main Room. Canary is standing there, typing away into the holographic computer.
My stomach could get a gold-medal. In tumbling.
"Blizzard." Canary said and she nodded at me, acknowledging my presense. She turned around, and I see a small smile tugging on the edges of her mouth.
