IT IS DARKEST BEFORE THE DAWN
I gasped loudly and jerked upwards. Everything is red. Like blood.
My blood, I thought.
No. It was too bright of a red. I was seeing through red-tinted glass. I was a sort of capsule. I tried to lift my arms, and when I failed, I went into a panic.
I couldn't lift my arms. They were restrained in the small space of the capsule.
The events that had happened before I blacked out flashed through my brain.
I closed my eyes, and tried to steady my breathing. Outside my capsule, I saw other capsules holding Beast Boy and Impulse. They were both sleeping. A sort of lab was in the middle of the room.
"No." I said as I shook violently.
Not again, I pleaded.
A scream filled the room, and a few seconds pass before I realize that the guttural sound had erupted out of my coarse throat.
I heard some weird squeaking outside the capsule. And pain shot up my arm. I turned my head to see a needle pulling itself out of my forearm.
I winced.
Then nothing.
-----------------
Electricity.
It flowed through my veins, burning my insides. The feeling of being on fire.
The pain. It was so intense.
I can't open my eyes, I can't think, I can't...
I screamed.
-----------------
"Where are you taking me?" I ask my father's friend, Dr. Peters.
He is silent, his hand gripping my arm tightly.
I am led into a white room.
"Change." Dr. Peters tone is unrecognizable as he points to a set of white clothes.
He slams the door behind me.
After changing, I open the door. Dr. Peters is leaned against a wall.
He grabs the white material surrounding my arm roughly, and I wince.
Finally, after an eternity of silence, we stop in front of a door with the sign, "Experimentation In Progress."
I then realized what I was wearing.
The uniform of an experiment.
Dr. Peters grabs my shoulders so I face him. His brown eyes are filled with hurt.
"I am so sorry, India. They-they threatened Katelyn and Leah if I didn't help them and I...I'm so sorry." He says quietly.
