CHICKEN WHIZZIES IN CRIME

"I'm going to be in so much trouble." I muttered as I walked in the doors.

"Nah, you'll be fine." Bart replied cheerily.

"I'm in the boy's locker room." I deadpanned.

"What's a bit of rebellion? You're a teenager. I read that teenagers in this time were very rebellious." Bart said, walking up and down the lockers. He stopped in front of a locker and speed-twisted the combination.

I walked over to him. "Who's locker is that anyways?"

"Blue Beetle's."

"Bart!" I scolded as I spotted Jaime's winter jacket and hat inside the locker.

Bart reached in and pulled out a packet that read, "Freeze-Dry Chicken Whizzies!"

I grabbed the packet and looked it over.

Preservatives (200), Yellow Food Color (32), Preservatives (213)...

"This stuff could be two hundred years old, and we wouldn't notice." I stated calmly to Bart.

"Isn't it great?" He exclaimed, popping open the bag and tossing a handful of chip-wing-hybrids into his mouth.

Bart held out two.

I popped the bits into my mouth, and chewed cautiously.

"It's not bad." I commented nonchalantly.

"You loved it." Bart said, raising his eyebrows. He stuffed another handful of Whizzies into his mouth. "Tehare sho amayzang."

But he froze all of a sudden and held the bag very carefully. I froze as well. I could hear footsteps.

Bart rose his finger to his lips. Then he put his hand over my mouth. I squirmed, but he held his grip firm.

He then picked me up bridal-style, and zoomed off.

I could hear muffled screaming, but it wasn't until later that I discovered that was me. I felt my skin wanting to stay back in the locker room. It was hard to describe later.

Bart stopped suddenly, and I was still screaming underneath his hand. We were in an underground grotto. Several of the guys were looking up at 20-foot-holograms.

One was of a redhead girl in an exotic yellow and aqua wrap.

Another was of a man dressed up as if he was a beetle.

A boy in a Robin suit.

The holograms are memorials, I concluded.

And--

Artemis?

I walked down stairs and stopped in front of Artemis-hologram. I had seen the same woman two days ago.

I walked over to Tim, who was dressed in civilian clothes. The only thing odd about the outfit was that he was wearing sunglasses indoors.
