Chapter 15.

A bang sounded through the room startling both Ace and Levi awake. The floor is where they were both consumed by sleep the night before. Now they were in a lying position, Levi was resting on top of Ace's chest, her hand was around his neck.

Levi shot up in an instant, still drowsy, with obvious bags under his eyes. Ace was still on the ground, oblivious to her surroundings. "Levi, what the hell is going on here." Erwins voice echoed around Levi's office, and it sounded demanding as hell.

Ace was now up, sitting on her ass, groaning at the soreness of her body. "Sir, if I may." Ace stood, knowing full well she looked like a wreck compared to Erwin. " After I woke up, I left to take a shower. Then I foolishly felt the need to come back to this room to confide in a familiar person. I was told by Mr. Ackerman to sit at the door because it was the least he could do without fully breaking the rules."

She breathes. The room is silent. "I must have fallen asleep here. It was extremely disrespectful to even come here in the first place. And for that, I am terribly sorry." Erwin looks dumbfounded, and Levi the same. "Okay... That does not explain why Levi was, uhm, on top of you, should I say?"

"Right, that part slipped my mind. Mr. Ackerman came over to kick me out of his office like any respectable Captain would and fell over, foolishly knocking himself out in the process. Now, I was selfish, because of course, this man is beautiful, what woman wouldn't snag the moment to rest with the Humanity's Strongest?" A laugh escaped Levi's lips at the elaborate lie. Heat rushed to Ace's cheeks at the sound.

It was beautiful, but of course, this should surprise no one. It was dark, but filled with love. The rasp was so, hot, and it rumbled in her chest. Her head snapped, eyes telling the man to zip it before the lie doesn't pass.

"That does seem like something YOU would do, Matsuri, but Levi?" Erwin's head flicked down to the man at Ace's feet. "He would never." Levi rose to her side, standing only slightly taller than her.

"Oh please, we all make mistakes. I will see you at training, Erwin. I have to reprimand Matsuri. Farewell." Levi shooed the man away like they were brothers, and a chuckle came from Erwin. "Very well, see you then" He turned on his heels, and every step he took made my breath hitch.

And just before he leaves, he speaks. "And for the record, you both are horrible liars." The door slams. A laugh bursts from Ace's lips. The sound of her laughter lighting up Levi's heart. "That. Was. So fucking funny." She says between giggles. Ace turned to look at the man beside her, noting that he, too, had a smirk on his face.

"Yes. Yes it was." He looked at peace, for the first time in a long time, he felt it too. "Sir, if I may, are you alright?" Of course she would still ask him that. Even after all she had been through, she out others before herself. A small smile formed on Levi's lips.

"I will be, Cadet. Are you? Alright I mean." Levi already knew the answer to this, of course, but he also knew she would lie. "Yes sir, I am fine. Day's go by and I cannot dwell on the past. So, with that being said, let's get to training." Levi nodded, not prying any further. "Lets."

"Can you not hit a little slower for me, Ace?" Eren was the king of complaining, and today, was one of his worse days. "Can you not just keep up with me, Eren? This is getting boring." Ace kicked behind Eren's knees and he fell to the floor, getting himself into a headlock.

"Sorry I'm not a psycho, you should not he this good at hand to hand combat." Ace was about to say something snide when yelling caught both of their attention. "Who the hell is fighting now? If it isn't you and Jean, who could it be?" Ace laughed at her own joke, and only laughed harder when she saw Eren's annoyed face.

"Haha. Very funny. Oh, it's the Cap and, who is that?" Eren was now on his tippy-toes trying to see whats going on. Ace grabbed his wrist and led him through the crowd, making their way to the front. "Good question, who is that. I have never seen her before." Ace slightly yelled over the screams of the other Cadets.

She was a ginger with a bob cut, it suited her, but it wasn't something that made her attractive by any means. She was small, but was still getting the Cap's going, which was interesting. They seemed familiar with their fighting skills, so they probably knew each other at some point or another. But regardless of all that, the mystery girl was now under the Cap, and struggling to get up.

It was funny to watch, honestly. Even though Ace knew she could never beat the One and Only Levi Ackerman in a fight, but it was still funny nonetheless. Eren was amazed by the scene in front of him, and Ace was too. And by the time the fight between them was over, so was training, and it was time for dinner.

Everyone cleared out after the Cap told them to, and it was just me, him and the girl left on the felid. "That was fun to watch, I'm Ace, whats your name?" She walked up to the girl while the Captain was cleaning himself up.

She gave Ace a huge smile and held her hand out. "I'm Petra Rall, nice to meet you, Ace." The man of the hour walked over to them and told Petra to get going. It was just Ace and Levi now.
