Months had passed, the season had started and neither of the girls had made a real move. Paige had been driving Rory home when Aurora didn't have cheer practice. If she did, Paige walked with her to where cheerleading practices were held. Until one day, they were at practice and having a pickup game when a horrible sound was heard. There was a pop and screams, Paige's screams. As an assistant PT, Rory was worried but as Paige's "friend," she was even more worried. She walked up to the tall blonde who was on the floor with tears in her eyes and picked her up.

"Rory, it hurts so bad," the blonde said while crying

She carried Paige to her own car and texted Hailie what had happened before driving her to the hospital. Paige stared out the window crying the whole ride. Once they got there she carried Paige in and told them what had happened. They hospitalized Paige and soon the two girls were in a hospital room alone waiting for results, an answer about what had happened. Of course, the PT major had an idea about what could have happened but she couldn't be sure and she especially couldn't tell Paige. After what felt like days of silence but really was about an hour, the doctor walked into the room again. Rory could tell by the look on his face that her idea was right, she could tell it was the worst-case scenario she had tried to talk herself out of. The doctor called Rory outside, and that's when Paige really understood just how bad the situation was.

"Miss, we have the results."

"What are they?"

"She tore her Anterior Crucial Ligament, her ACL"

"Do you have any idea how long she won't be able to play for? It's her life"

"She'll probably be out the whole season"

"Okay."

"That's all, you can go back in. I'll be there soon to tell her"

"Thank you, doctor"

The girl walked back into the room with tears in her eyes. She sat down on the hospital bed near Paige and waited for the doctor to tell the blonde about the situation. Once the doctor walked in she grabbed Paige's hand and watched as her face fell even more and she didn't cry. She was officially numb, she looked at Aurora and the brunette felt her heart shatter.

"Good news is we can have you in for surgery tomorrow. That means you can start recovery soon"

Paige didn't react to that, not really, she just nodded. Once the doctor left, that's when her walls broke down. Paige cried, she really, really cried, she sobbed. She hugged Rory as if she was the only thing that could save her, and maybe she was. Every day felt longer for the both of them since then, neither of them slept well, Paige mostly because of the physical pain, and Rory solely because of the emotional pain.

The good news is, that Rory is a great physical therapist, even more so when emotionally driven.
