It did not take long to track down the man you believed had something to do with your missing children. Or should you say magician? A Dead Apostle magician. All it took to find him was going to where he frequently resided. One snap found you in an empty void, save for a chair and a book. Seated in the chair was Zeltretch."Ah. (F/n). It's been a while since you last visited my office." He greeted you jokingly.
"Where are they?" You said coolly, belying the parental anger brewing.
"Already to the chase? Come now-"
"Where. Are. My. Kids?" You spelled out, tracing Kanshou and Bakuya. The move was a gesture hinting you were in no mood to play games. Truth be told, you doubted you could kill the wiley wizard. But you could give him a bad day.
"They're fine." Zeltretch reassured. "Surely your daughter is allowed to enjoy her present, no?"
"Her what?! What did you do?!"
"I gave young Shuri, and Leon and Rose by proxy, a chance to be a hero. Or heroine. Following her parents as it were."
His words did little to tamper the anxiety gnawing at you. Hero? The role of hero was more or less thrust upon you way back when. Shirou Emiya pursued it till his ideals consumed him, and Kiritsugu before him was broken by his quest for peace. That was to say nothing of the extreme peril. And knowing the world Zeltretch came from, that was all too common. Something a teenager, who often had the feeling of invincibility, would not fully grasp. Shuri could very well be in over her head.
"For the last time, where are they?" You demanded.
......
"I don't get deeply involved with things outside my own time period. At the end of the day, I cooperate as a Weapon. That's the Golden Servant Rule." Cú Chulainn, the Caster version, elaborated. "Your purpose is to investigate this abnormality. My purpose is to end this Grail War."
He extended a materializing hand to Olga Marie, who was at the forefront of the group trying to ascend wall formed by the splitting of a road. "Our interests line up. So why not join forces in a jovial manner?"
Shuri was just happy to have an allied Servant of his caliber. This new Servant of hers told them the situation. The Grail War in Fuyuki went very wrong. Humans disappeared, the landscape devastated and corrupted Saber was in charge. The remaining Heroic Spirits involved were waiting at Mount Enzo, protecting a corrupt Grail.
'Just like Shirou Emiya's.' Shuri had mused. Her mind had managed to resolve itself in the face of the circumstances. She had heard enough stories to know that a corrupt Grail needed to be shut down immediately. It certainly would be something her parents would do.
"It's a logical decision." Olga took the hand, only to be casually pulled all the way up.
"Still, it's unusual." He pulled Shuri up next, scrutinizing Olga all the while. "You don't have any potential to be a Master?"
"What of it?" Olga retorted sharply, taking offense. Rose, Leon and Mash ascended without assistance in the meantime.
"I mean you're a first class Mage. And you don't have the potential to be a Master. Is it a curse?"
"What difference does it make?"
"You have a first class stubborn streak too." Caster remarked. He winked at Shuri.
"What was that?!"
Shuri allowed a giggle at Olga's expense.
"Mash, are you tired?" Leon asked from his place behind his sister.
