New York - Bucky POV

I raced down the stairs ahead of Sam, childish I know but he'd just made me look a complete jerk in front of the Doc, so I wanted him to feel like a punk.

I burst through the double doors and onto the busy street, noise and people hit my senses like a tidal wave.

Damn this super soldier hearing, although it had allowed me to hear the Doc's heartbeat go crazy when I pulled her in for that hug. The thought made me smile.

I don't even know why I did it. Well I do, but I don't know what made me act on it, I just couldn't help myself when she said those words. It's like I meant something more than just broken Bucky to her.

She was just being so sweet and understanding after I'd basically blubbed like a little kid about another dumb nightmare, and she's just so amazing. She's gorgeous and smart and funny and she just knows all the right words to say and.. and.. and I need to stop thinking about my therapist like that.

I shook my head at myself, still stood alone on the street.

What the hell was Sam doing?

Sighing I ran my hand through my hair, why couldn't I get this dame outta my head? I mean she couldn't feel anything for me in return, could she?

I thought I'd seen a glimmer when I gave her the flowers, and when her heart started to race, then Captain Slow Poke interrupted so I never got to find out.

And now I was waiting for his slow ass to get downstairs so we could all go for drinks together. Jesus, what am I doing? Was this really such a good idea? Least I couldn't get drunk and say or do anything stupid. I could just depend on my own stupidity for that.

At that moment Sam made an appearance through the double doors, red faced and breathing heavily.

"Good of you to join me Sam" I smirked.

"Cute Barnes, real cute man" He puffed out as he bent over gripping his knees with his hands as he caught his breath.

"Well don't shove me" I shrugged back; Sam just shook his head at me.

Then the Doc walked through the doors looking between us both with raised eyebrows.

"Everything OK here?" She asked, probably thinking I'd punched him, I wish.

"Yeah" Sam stood up, still breathing deeply "Terminator here must have seen Sarah Connor and thought he'd take off running down the stairs" Sam scowled at me as he explained to the Doc what had happened, I wasn't sure who Sarah Connor was, but I wasn't running after anyone.

My confusion must have been clear as Sam laughed and clapped me on the shoulder "Come on man, let's go" He smiled, holding his arm out for the Doc to take, and started to walk towards the bar they must have agreed on earlier, "And Buck?" He turned to me.

"What?" I said not looking at him.

"Go watch a movie, please, ya killing me" He and the Doc chuckled.
Was he making fun of me?
I scowled at him; I might actually punch him if he carries on.

"I watch movies" I muttered to the sidewalk as I trailed behind them.

Sam and the Doc walked into a bar a couple blocks from the Doc's offices, the noise of people wailing to music pouring out as they opened the doors.
