** No trigger warnings I don't think in this chapter, but man did I hurt my own feelings writing it! This chapter is a little shorter, but I had to finish it where i have or it would have been too long, don't worry I'll make it up to you all**
Tonsburg - Loki's POV
Thor and the petulant child had lead me to one of the few buildings they kept in New Asgard as guest houses.
Places for visiting family and friends or any lost Asgardians as may return to the fold.
Thor had twittered something about this particular one being the staple residence of a Dr Larrsen and that they would be visiting within the next week.
And that I would have to share as the others were currently full whilst new homes were being built for some new arrivals into the village. I had seen some construction work going on at the far edge of the village.
I didn't see this being a problem if he was anything like Dr. Selvig we should get on just fine. I should really go and see Eric and apologise, I grimaced at the thought, and made a mental note.
The guest house was roomy for a Midgardian abode. With three bedrooms and two bathrooms. I didn't foresee any problems with he and I sharing while the good doctor was here. It might actually be fun to have company whilst Thor went about his royal duties in Asgard.
Thor had given me a tour of the house, pointed out Dr. Larrsen's room and shown me to the room that I could use, then bid me a farewell as the annoying child had started to complain about wanting something called pan flaps.
What on Asgard was a pan flap?
Thor had said he would return once he had someone to watch the child and would give me a tour of the village and surrounding area. It sounded nice, a chance to spend time with my brother. I'd sorely missed him.
I sighed and looked around the sitting area of the house, it felt good to be... home? I guess this was now my home as Hela and Surtur had destroyed our home planet. There were bookshelves lining one of the walls of the room, filled with books on something called psychology. Perhaps the doctor could explain it to me when he arrived.
There was two comfortable looking grey couches, a little table, a television set, an open fire grate and thick green curtains opened at the window. It looked homely. I smiled as I took it all in, standing there hands in my pockets.
I strolled through to the fair-sized kitchen area and saw through the window that the house overlooked the cliff and ocean beyond. Opening the back door I found there was a small porch and some wooden chairs.
I sat down in one and looked out over the ocean, the early morning sun starting to rise and cast a warm golden pink glow over everything.
My heart ached, the golden light reminding me of Asgard, and the Palace. Throwing up memories of Thor and I as children running through the Palace or riding our horses through the fields of a morning. And everything else that had lead me to this point. I sighed and shook my head.
I could time slip back to those moments and relive them, but the thought alone was too painful. I heaved a deep sigh and settled back into the chair to watch the seagulls swirl along the cliff, my chin and lips resting on my curled fingers, my face set in a solemn stare, and tried to clear my mind of those sad thoughts.
Unsure of how long I'd sat there, I raised my head at a noise from within the house. I turned my head towards the door as Thor strode out of it with a plate in his hand.
"Pan flaps" He beamed and presented me the plate, my dark eyebrows raising, and my mouth opened slightly in confusion as I stared up at him.
Then I looked at the plate and sighed a chuckle. Pan flaps was evidently the name the child and apparently Thor had given to Midgardian pancakes.
