New York - Freyja's POV

My stomach churned as I watched my last appointment of the morning walk through the door. His bright blue eyes and beaming smile melted my heart and made it hard to swallow.

But I had to put the professional distance between us, so I took a deep breath in, slowly and quietly exhaling it as he hung his customary leather jacket up, his broad back muscles ripped under his light blue Henley.

"Morning Doc" Bucky beamed at me, as he turned round and headed to the couch.

"Good morning Bucky" I smiled back "I'm guessing you've slept well over the weekend and Sam hasn't teased you too much?" I dipped my head to pull away from his gaze.

"Yep" Bucky grinned back, flopping down on to the couch "Slept like a baby the last few nights, and I've just left Sam on read" He smirked.

I pursed my lips at him but with a slight smile "You can't just ignore your problems Bucky" I chuckled.

"I can when it's Sam" Bucky chuckled back, as he lent back, relaxing.

"You are supposed to nurture friendships and talk through conflicts remember" I smirked up at him and shook my head knowing those two and the way they nurture their friendship.
"Anyway" I said with a slightly more serious tone, looking away from that steel blue gaze that seemed to glow from across the room "Speaking of relationships, I think we're at the stage now where we can talk about how you go about finding new relationships, how to start them, recognising attachment styles and how to navigate the whole human interaction playing field" I glanced back to Bucky his expression hadn't changed and he seemed to still be in a fantastic mood "What do you think?" I finished with a smile.

"Oh I'm pretty good at starting new relationships" He chuckled playfully at me with a glint in his eye.

I sighed and shook my head with a laugh "I don't just mean those types of relationships" I took a deep breath in, "But we can start there if you'd like?" Bucky started to frown slightly.

I felt my heart sink but beat faster.

"Sure doc" He said slowly, confusion clearly spreading across his face "If you think it's something I need to work on."

"I think it would definitely help you in all aspects Bucky, we all need to have people that we can trust" I pulled my lips into a thin line "And working out how to find those people is part of that" I gave him a soft smile.

"Ok Doc, what do you have in mind" Bucky asked his brows knitting closer together.

I drew in a deep breath.

We had gotten to a stage where I could suggest things to talk about and ask more questions, but as always he had full control and if he didn't want to talk about it we didn't.

I just hoped this wouldn't ruin that.

"Ok well we can start with your last relationship, when was that?" I asked, trying to keep my face neutral.

"Couple months ago" Bucky shrugged and pulled a non-committal face.

"And how did you meet?" I continued working through the usual questions.

A wide grin overtook the confusion on Bucky's face as he leaned forward to rest his elbows on his thick, black denim covered thighs "In a bar, she was so hot, and she just walked straight up to me" Bucky glanced away his face beginning to redden.
