Najma got ready in one of the Abayas that Nabil got for her. It was maroon color and It was embroidered with golden stripes. She searched for her kohl in her handbag and applied it to her eyes. She smiled as she looked at the mirror. One could say she was an Arab not a Nigerian. Nabil looked at her once and looked away. His mind started questioning him about what he was doing. He knew getter close to Najma was a bad idea. She looked so happy, he wished It could remain like this.

Najma cleared her throat several times to announce her presence in the living room, but Nabil turned a deaf ear. "You can do better than this you know, It's so obvious you're avoiding eye contact with me. Just look up and have a good look at me. Stop punishing your heart Nabil Mukhtar Maidawa." She giggled.

"If you are done, Let's go." He announced without looking at her. She hates Nabil's personality disorder so much! "You have to tell me where we are heading to first." She folded her arms. "Do you trust me?" He asked, now looking at her. "No, Well maybe a bit. Let's say 50/50." She replied.

"Let's go then." He announced. "Where's your car?" She asked, after they stopped outside the hotel. "I don't have a car here." He replied. "Where's the one you were driving?" She asked. "It was given out on lease to me, It had some issues so I returned it back before I get another one."

"So Nabil Mukhtar Maidawa will be on a public transport?" Najma asked raising an eyebrow, Nabil didn't reply her and soon their ride arrived. "I'm going back to my apartment as soon as we are done with whatever you're taking me for." She warned.

"Ofcourse, I can't wait to get rid of you already, I will have a sound sleep today in my bed." He smug a smile. "I thought the agreement was that we will stop being mean to each other?" Najma asked. "Right, then stop making it impossible." He replied. "How am I making it be impossible?"

"Can we just keep all that aside and enjoy the rest of the day?" Nabil asked looking at Najma. "Fine, no more fights." Najma replied. Najma's phone started ringing and she hesitated to pick up Basma's call at first, because it's a video call but she did. Praying Basma doesn't say something to embarrass her.

"Hello Mrs Nabil Mukhtar Maidawa!" Basma squealed. That was it, Najma felt like throwing her phone out of the car. "Basma you're on speaker." Najma spoke through gritted teeth. "No way, Don't tell me you're together?" Basma asked. "Ummhmm" Najma mumbled.

"I hope he didn't try to do anything funny last night?" Basma asked. "Basma are you crazy?" Najma wished she could appear before Basma right now and spank the life out of her. "Yes I didn't do anything Basma. She told me you promised to murder me If I try doing anything crooked." Nabil announced.

"Nabil! Is he the one speaking? Give the phone to him right now Najma." Basma demanded. She had already finished embarrassing Najma, what more does she want? She handed the phone over to Nabil without saying a word.

"Hello Nabil, how are you doing?" She asked. They exchanged pleasantries and she asked him where they were heading to? "I'm still mad at you though!" Basma declared.

"I'm taking her out on a treat, to apologize properly actually. Then finally get rid of her, So I can sleep peacefully tonight." Nabil announced. Najma folded her arms looking at how a new Nabil was evolving right before her. Speaking with Basma so freely and lively.

"Take good care of my friend Nabil. I have forgiven you since you are going to fix your mistake. But If you say one more hurtful word to Najma again, I won't think twice about coming over there and commit the most dreadful murder in the history of man." Basma threatened. "Fine, I won't." Nabil replied laughing.

Nabil laughing was such a great sight to behold, Najma caught herself smiling while staring at Nabil. He finished talking to Basma and handed the phone back to Najma. "Our 14 years of friendship is over Basma and I mean it!" Najma declared hanging up.
