"Baby please talk to me. Since you came back you've been mute. I've never seen you like this, I'm freaking out here. I asked if he raped you and you said No, then what's wrong? I've given you more than enough time to calm down." Basma whined looking at the wall clock in Najma's room.
It's been over 2 hours since Najma came back from her date. Basma has been waiting to hear spicy gist but she was shocked to see Najma looking this down. Though she sensed something was wrong. If everything was going well , Najma would have texted her before even coming back home.
Basma wasn't planning on sleeping over at Najma's but she couldn't leave her in this state. "I never thought there would be anything you would hide from me in this world." Basma declared with a low tone. She had to use emotional blackmail, that was the only way to get Najma to speak up.
"You know I can never hide anything away from you. I just wanted to calm down. You know how much I hate to shed tears. Now that I'm calm, I'll tell you all about It." Najma stood up.
"Let's go and sit over there." Najma announced as she headed to the couch at her balcony.
"Basma na, you know how much I hate anything that has to do with fornication. I detest it so much that I'll never be able to live with anyone that indulge in such heinous sin." Najma declared catching her breath. Basma noticed how Najma was getting tensed , So she took Najma's hands and started squeezing them gently like she always does when Najma gets a panic attack.
"I won't mind making you my favorite side chick , I'd do anything to have you even if it's just for one night. Those were his words Basma! That's what he said to me. All these filthy gifts were just a shred and nothing more!" Najma declared bitterly, gulping a hard to gulp saliva that felt really painful.
"Tell me,what did I do to make him think so nasty of me? Do I look like a call girl or something like that? I mean , the day he met me for the first time I was fully covered wearing Jilbab. So where did I go wrong?" Basma didn't attempt to interrupt her one bit because Najma needed a listening ear now more than an adviser.
"I really thought I could prove people wrong and Hammad. What was I even thinking? But then I don't really care. It's his life, not mine. Why am I even bothered? I wasn't this bothered when I found out the truth about Aliyu my Ex." Najma shrugged.
"You care because you like him and you don't want to accept it." Basma declared. "I don't! Why would I like someone like him!" Najma snapped releasing the grip Basma had on her hands.
"Calm down girl, But truth to be told we know you liked him before, I mean before this whole date of a thing." Basma declared, "Well ...... Maybe I don't know. Just don't bring this up now I beg of you."
"Fine. But I'd still want to hear the complete the gist." Basma teased.
"Fine , Fine" Najma adjusted her sitting posture.
"So after you escorted me to the car, The police you saw standing greeted me with so much respect and high regards and opened the door for me. Girl! I felt like a Queen!" Najma chuckled.
"Apparently he has always had securities, just that he doesn't like them following him around that much. So last night someone tried to attack him but he escaped. So his Mum insisted he should be taking the securities with him always."
"Talking about his mum, You should have heard how he speaks so highly of his Mum Basma! He was like he can even lay down his life for her without thinking twice. At that moment, I was like marry me already Papi" Najma squealed with delight.
She left no stone unturned in telling her about the details of what transpired between them. "Everything was going well you know, until he decided to spoil it." Najma's face went pale. "You look so happy when you talk about him you know and I love this for you." Basma smiled.
