"Mom?" He asked once more.

Ash looked at his mother's body. She was sitting by a desk, slumped over. Her face was turned sideways, looking right at Ash. Her eyes were open, glazed open. She looked like someone who fell asleep in school.

"Mom!" Ash yelled once more.

He ran over to his mother and tried to get her up. Ash was in a panic. He ran over to a phone and dialed the pokemon center, since there was no human hospital nearby.

"Hello, this is nurse Joy. Ho-"

"I need help! My mom, s-s-she won't get up, s-she's not breathing, and t-the pulse! I can't feel anything!"

"Ok calm down. You say this is your mom?"

"Yes!"

"We'll be there right away, but first who are you and where do you live?"

"I'm Ash Ketchum, and I'm a-"

"Alright we'll be on the way, stay tight." She then hung up.

"I didn't get to tell her where I-oh wait, they probably remember my mom is the mother of the pokemon master. Well it doesn't matter, as long as they get here fast."

-15 minutes later-

What was 15 minutes felt to Ash like 15 hours. He had been looking out the window when he saw nurse Joy with officer Jenny and...professor Oak. Ash couldn't think about that right now, he had to let them in and help his mom. Ash whipped open the door.

"Where is she?" Asked Joy.

"T-the desk."

Nurse Joy and Chansey went over to Delia.

"So, did you see anything suspicious?" Asked officer Jenny.

"n-no. I woke up and she was like that."

Pikachu and Mr. Mime stood by as Joy did her final test. Afterwords, she looked up with a saddened look.

"Ash."

"Is she..."

"I'm sorry. By the looks of it, she died 2 hours ago. There was nothing any of us could do."

Ash looked at her. His face was blank. He just backed up to a wall, slid down, and looked up.

"This can't be real."

"I'm sorry."

Ash tucked in his legs and just started to ball his eyes out. Pikachu went by him and sobbed right next to Ash. Mr. Mime was crying on the couch. Officer Jenny, nurse Joy, and Chansey all left to give them space. However professor Oak stayed behind.

"Ash, would you like to stay with me and Gary for a while?"

"N-no. Thanks professor." Said a teary Ash.

"All good my boy. I would just like to let you know, no matter what, I'm here for you."

"T-thanks."

"I never expected this. I didn't even know you had come to town. I just wish we met under far better circumstances."

"Yeah."

"I'll leave you alone for now, you need it. If you need anything at all, I'll be at the lab."

"Ok."

"Oh and Ash." Said the professor right at the door.

"Yeah?"

"Try and connect with your friends, they can help you during this time."

Ash just nodded his head. With that, the professor left. Ash went back to crying.

...

It had been hors now. Ash didn't leave t]his spot. It was already 9 at night. His stomach grumbled. He hadn't eaten throughout the entire day.

"I need to get out of here. Let's go Pikachu, time to eat."

"Pi." Replied a saddened Pikachu.

"Want anything Mr. Mime?"

"Mime Mr. Mime me."

"Alright."

Ash approached the door. He opened it to someone about to knock on said door. This particular someone was a girl with red hair, yellow tank, jean shorts, a side pony, and the most beautiful cerulean blue eyes.  It shocked Ash to see her, and now of all times.

"Hey Ash." Was all Misty said.
