Reconnected

Help

Misty returned to the Ketchum residence a little over 7 P.M. She carried out her suitcase and 2 bags. She had trouble at first finagling all 3, but eventually just had Politoad carry a bag. The duo entered to a very delicious smelling house. 

"What's delicious that smell?" Ash then entered her view. 

"I made dinner." 

"When could you cook?" 

"Couldn't live on takeout, so I learned to cook." 

"Oh...well what did you make?" 

"Homemade ravioli, homemade marinara, and garlic bread." 

"R-really!?" 

"Yep, now do you mind if I borrow Politoad? I figure we can put your stuff in your room, since he's already out." 

"Uh, is that fine Politoad?" 

"Poli." Responded the pokemon. 

"Cool, and would you mind getting the pokemon food out?" 

"Sure." 

Ash and Politoad went upstairs, while Misty got out the food and set her plate. 

"Oh, you could've started." 

"Nah, I wanted to eat...with you." 

"Oh really?" Said a smirking Ash, who started to act familiar. 

"Yeah, yeah." 

"Alrighty then, I'll get a plate so we can dig in." 

At first, they ate in silence, but then... 

"So, how long are you going to stay?" 

"As long as it takes." 

"What does that mean?" 

"It means I'll be here for a LONG while." 

"Even after everything I did to you and everyone else?" 

"We've been over this. That was one of the, if not the, worst day in my life. Now you're going through something that's worse. You lost everyone, but I want you to know everyone hasn't lost their hope in you. I want to help you through this because I know you Ash, and I can't stand to see your old self completely lost, not after this." 

"Wow...you really feel that way?" 

"Yeah." 

"Thank you." 

"No problem." 

They then finished their meal. Some time passed, and it was time for bed. The duo went upstairs, but before they entered their respective rooms... 

"Goodnight...Mist." 

"G-goodnight, Ash." Said a shocked Misty. He hadn't called her Mist in 7 years. She smiled before she slept.
