As the members of Squad Levi gathered in the tree, their voices were low as they strategized for the battle ahead. The threat of the Female Titan loomed large, and they all knew the risks. The tension in the air was thick as each member discussed how to handle the situation, especially given that the Female Titan might be hiding among the Scouts. They had no idea who to trust, and the weight of that uncertainty hung heavily over them.
Petra, always sharp, was the first to speak up. "We know she’s dangerous and powerful. We can’t afford to make any mistakes. If she’s hiding among us, we need to stay alert and ready for anything."
(Name) nodded, her mind racing with plans and contingencies. "We’ll need to stay together. Eren’s safety comes first, but we can’t let our guard down for even a second."
Levi stood silently, his eyes scanning the group. There was no need for him to add anything—his presence alone was enough to command respect and focus from everyone. His squad was always prepared to follow his lead, no questions asked.
Suddenly, their attention shifted to the blue smoke signal in the distance. The signal was a call to withdraw. (Name)’s eyes narrowed, sensing that the situation was escalating quicker than they anticipated.
"Let’s get back to the horses! Prepare to withdraw!" (Name) commanded firmly, her voice cutting through the tense air. There was no time for hesitation—this wasn’t a retreat, but a strategic repositioning.
As they moved, Eren asked, "Did they really find out who it was?"
Petra, ever the optimist, flashed a smile. "All thanks to you!" she said, nudging him gently. "What? But I didn’t do anything," Eren protested, confusion written across his face.
"You trusted us, remember?" Petra added. "Things turned out this way because you chose to stick with us."
(Name) joined in the conversation, offering a reassuring smile. "Petra’s right, Eren. Making the right call is a pretty hard thing to do, you know!" She patted him gently on the head, her expression warm.
"Hey, now. Quit pampering him! How did he even help? All he did was whine like a pathetic little brat. I guess making it back alive might be praiseworthy, but only after the mission is over," Oru expressed with his usual snark, mimicking Levi’s tone.
(Name)’s expression darkened as she turned to face Oru, her patience running thin. "Oru, shut up. Stop picking on Eren, and stop mimicking our captain," she snapped, her glare enough to make Oru stop in his tracks.
Oru, taken aback by (Name)’s outburst, muttered an apologetic "Sorry" and quickly fell silent. The other squad members, though used to Oru’s teasing, knew better than to provoke (Name) when she was serious. Her anger, though rare, was fierce, and it made even Levi cautious. They all respected her strength, especially in moments like this when she showed her unwavering determination.
Despite her usually kind and calm nature, (Name) wasn’t someone to be trifled with, especially when it came to the safety of her squad. The tension between her and Oru wasn’t the first time her leadership had been tested. When Levi wasn’t around, she was often tasked with leading the squad, and though her softer demeanor sometimes made others doubt her, she had proven time and again that she was more than capable.
Her frustration with Oru stemmed from his reluctance to take her seriously. More than once, his lack of focus had put them in danger, and she wasn’t about to let it happen again. "How many damn times do I need to remind you to remain focused and alert during a mission?" she had snapped at them once before. "Do you want to end up like a fucking dinner for Titans?"
The harshness of her words had always silenced the squad, making it clear that she would not tolerate any slack when lives were at stake. From that point on, Oru and the others followed her orders without question. They knew better than to underestimate her.
