{Can you kiss me?}

Through all the time Sonic and I spent together even if it had just been a couple months, I never thought we'd be anything more than rivals. . Hell even roommates. And what he asked me, on a starry night where everything was finally okay really shook me to the core.

Shadow's P.O.V.
"W-What did you just ask me?. . ." I asked as Sonic looked back at me, tonight was not as gloomy as it was before cause now we can see all of the stars out without the fog in the way. He walked up to me and held my hand gently; "You. . . You were the first person who actually knows about my anxiety disorder, and not only you didn't push me away but you let me live with you. You have been there, though I would've understood if you didn't want to." Sonic stopped talking as he walked while looking up at the star filled sky, then turned to me while shooting stars were flying by. . . and asked the question again. "Can you kiss me? You have the choice not to, it's mostly just a question" We just looked at each other and thought that we were standing still with the whole world, I slowly walked towards him as we were inches apart from each other, I knew I was hesitating cause I wasn't sure if he meant it or not. "Are you sure? And I mean are you really sure about this?" I said as he just looked at me then started smiling; "I'm not gonna make the first move, Shads. . ." Sonic said while blushing, as he said that I gently held his hands and inched closer to him. I leaned in and planted a soft kiss on his lips, I felt him kiss back as his hands gripped mine, the wind blew around us and all we could hear was the twinkling stars passing by. I pulled away softly while blushing like a mad man, Sonic looked at me and chuckled a bit from my reaction on my face. "What's so funny faker?" I looked at him smirking a bit as Sonic chuckled more "Your reaction after you kissed me, haha. Was that. . . kiss convincing enough?" Before I could finish answering, Sonic gently puts his hands on my cheeks and kissed me again, I didnt know where to place my hands but after i gently had my hands on his waist. The kiss felt like an eternity as my hands trailed around his waist and quills as we kissed. After a while, he pulled away softly, gasping for air while looking at each other with lust in our eyes. Sonic blushed very red and pulled away as we were only holding hands now. "W-We should get back to your place!" I smirked a bit as I finally let go, Sonic was confused a little bit from my reaction; "Race you back to the house, Faker" I winked as I started running back to the house, Sonic laughed as he ran after me.

Sonic's P.O.V.
Tonight's been electric, I realized my feelings for Shadow were actually real. . . Mind-blowing right? I was running after Shadow to be the first one back to the apartment and while running It felt great. Normally id run just to get away from problems, but this time it felt like I didn't have a worry in the entire world and someone who makes me feel seen without the cameras. I was running as fast as I could, Shadow and i kept eye contact for a minute while running and for the first time, I was very happy, as happy as I'll ever be. We both reached the house while I laughed, Shadow smiled at me laughing as I sat on the stoop. "It's been a long time since I actually felt free!" I yelled but covered my mouth since I was a bit too loud, Shadow slightly chuckled as he was standing in front of me while I looked up smiling at him but blushed cause I still felt awkward after we actually kissed so I looked down. Shadow took another step towards me and planted a small kiss on my head, I blushed like a tomato but covered my face in embarrassment, Shadow went in the house first then i went in after. I stretched a bit even though I was still banged up, today was a lot but. . . Also very fun, I went in with him as his cat greeted us when we walked in the door, I picked her up and cuddled against her but was still in pain from the fight as it showed on my face. Shadow went to the kitchen and started pulling out sone things, I looked over to see what he was doing and saw that he was pulling out things for tea, I placed his cat down ans went over to the island table, sitting down on one of the chairs. I felt my gaze not leaving him while he was making tea, I smiled at the thought that he actually kissed me. . It felt like a dream but this is real, and he really feels the same feeling I am. I was spaced out while thinking of him until I was snapped to reality by Shadow; "What are you daydreaming about?" Shadow smirked while asking, I blushed red and covered my cheeks as he smiled while handing me my cup of tea, I blew on it before taking a sip and my body slowly stopped being tense for a bit cause of the warmth of the tea but I felt a bit uneasy as I looked at Shadow.

"A-About today. . . If you regret it at all or if I was kind of forcing it y-you can tell me, I don't mind" I said while looking at my reflection in the tea, it got quiet as Shadow didnt say anything. . I knew i was too fast. While I started gripping onto my cup, Shadow gently placed his hands onto mine and made me look up at him. "I don't regret it, not one bit. Don't let all that get mixed around in your head faker" He hit my head gently with his hand as he smiled, I chuckled and smiled while holding his hand, this feeling. . . It felt really good in a way as everything was turning to be okay. I yawned softly and stretched even though i flinched in pain, Shadow stood up and walked around the island counter to help me stand up and get my room. "Its been a very long day, get some rest" Shadow said before he went to his room, I didnt know what i was feeling but I didn't want to leave his side, so before he shut his door, I held it open with my injured arm and luckily it didnt hurt as much but it caused Shadow to open the door a bit wider as he looked at me. "Um. . . If it isn't any trouble, I mean! If it is just tell me and everything but uh. . Again if it's fine-" Before I could finish Shadow grabbed my hand and pulled me into his room, it surprised me as i turned to him; "You can sleep with me tonight and you don't have to ask, but shower first we're both a mess and I have to bandage you back up" Shadow explained as he pattedy head, I blushed slightly and nodded as I went into the bathroom to shower. 2 hours passed since we had to freshen up, after Shadow was bandaging up my hand again. . I looked up at him while he did so and smiled at him since he looked so focused but caught my gaze every few seconds. After he was done he sat in his bed and patted beside him, I sat beside him awkwardly as I was a bit far from him, he turned the lights off and laid down and I did the same. . I cant really sleep so all i did was look up at the ceiling, Shadow turned to me and noticed that I felt a bit overwhelmed still, he gently pulled me close to him and wrapped his arms around me and it surprised me a bit. I tried looking up but Shadow rubbed my head which felt soothing. . I yawned softly while resting on his chest as I started falling asleep, Shadow fell asleep after me. . . This felt really nice to me.

Shadow's P.O.V.
It was the next day, I was already awake while checking on job offerings for the day after while drinking coffee. I heard footsteps come out of my room and saw a sleepy blue hedgehog, I smiled a bit then went back to browsing, While reading i felt his head on my shoulder like he waa trying to go back to sleep but was also waking himself up. "You know you gotta get up early in the morning once in a while" I said and Sonic groaned as a response he stretched his arms as I put the papers down, sitting back sighing softly. "Something on your mind?" Sonic asked as I looked in his direction, I shrugged my shoulders before I responded; "Looking for more jobs, its been a pain in the ass since ive been calling for the ones I see on the newsletters but they get taken very fast" I picked up one of the papers to look at it, I had been up for a few hours so I was kind of tired. Sonic took the paper out of my hand and placed it down before standing up in front of me, making me sit up a bit. "Well, we can not think about the jobs and actually have some fun for once." . . . Is he saying what i think he's saying?

"Let's have a day off for ourselves today, no distractions, just us"
