Years passed by. . Everyone is in their mid 20s now, Sonic and I were living our amazing lives with our friends, exploring new places and also just talking til the day ends. And now, it was about time we took the next step of our lives.

Shadow's P.O.V.
I was out with Rouge and Knuckles at the mall since they invited me to tag along, I had nothing to do at the moment besides Sonic was with Amy and Tails for the day anyways. While we were walking, I was checking my phone when suddenly I bumped into Rouge; "Let's go in here Shadow" she exclaimed, I looked up and noticed that it was a wedding ring store, which is weird considering Rouge and Knuckles are already married but maybe they just wanted to resize their rings. We all looked around and I did see some rings that looked nice. "So Shadow, have you ever popped the question to Sonic yet?" Knuckles asked, my ears perked up as I turned to him; "Question?" I asked generally curious, Rouge showed off her ring, I knew what they were talking about as I shook my head; "I don't think Sonic's into that type of thing, we are already a couple and have rings of our own but for a wedding ring I wouldn't know what to get" I said, I looked over at them as they smiled. . They act like they're my parents now ever since they got hitched. I kept looking around as I spotted two gold rings and the sign said that you could ingrave your names in them. "No matter the ring, expensive or not it will always be cherished by him" Rouge said, I looked at her with a smug look "Says the bat with a 25k diamond ring on her finger Knucklehead saved up for" Rouge and I laughed as Knuckles sighed; "Have to pay 20 installments. . . B-But it was worth it!" He said in a weak tone, I smirked a bit and went back to looking at the gold rings. . . I ended up buying them thanks to Rouge. I was walking back home and saw that the Sun was going down, normally I would head to the pier but today I was tired from all of the shopping with Rouge and Knuckles.

I made it to the apartment as I unlocked and opened the door; "Im hom-" as I walked in Sonic, Tails and Amy were in the living room and while I took off my shoes Sonic's ears perked up and turned to me, immediately standing up and power walking over to kiss my cheek. "Welcome back! I invited Tails and Amy over for a bit and dinner is slow cooking as we speak. Don't worry im paying attention to it heh" Sonic said while happily smiling, I smiled back at him and rubbed his head before putting my bag down but kept the ring bag with me so Sonic doesn't look in it. Amy took notice of it right away but didn't point it out; "Hey Shadow, can I talk to you for a second?" Amy asked before pointing to my room, I was confused and got up to follow her. As soon as we got to my room she immediately shut the door and looked at the brand name on the bag; "Oh my- you're gonna pop the question?!-" I immediately shut her mouth as she got loud while asking, I blushed than nodded as her eyes sparkled and she calmed down. "Im not going to right now, I don't think it is the right time" I said while rubbing my neck, Amy thought about something for a but before she snapped her fingers; "Is there anything Important coming up?" Amy asked. . . Is there? I pulled out my phone and went to my calendar, our anniversary was next week. . That could be the right moment! I started talking to Amy about it and she made sure I left everything to her which I cannot lie I was a bit afraid of that.

Sonic's P.O.V.
A week passed and things were feeling a bit abnormal than they usually are; Shadow would be out more often but wouldn't tell me where he would go, not to mention Amy and Tails haven't been wanting to hang out or called me in a while which was odd. I was sitting on the couch on my phone when I suddenly heard a knock. . But it wasn't at the door, I looked at the balcony to see Rouge and went over to open it letting her fly in. "Hey Blue, just here to give you something. I can't say anything only for you to put it on and meet at the big oak tree" she winked before she flew back out, I was confused and opened the small box and it had a red plaid shirt inside along with dress pants and shoes. . Weird, I shrugged it off and went to my room to put it on. I looked in the mirror and I can't deny I don't look bad, I checked my phone and it was around 9 o clock so I quickly left out and headed to the tree. As soon as I got there, I didn't expect to see. . A pathway of lit candles heading to the hill. I walked slowly down the path to admire them until I heard soft guitar playing, I walked up the hill to see Shadow in a blue plaid shirt playing his guitar. . A soft song which sounded like a serenade in my ears. I made it up the hill as soon as he was finished. "Wow, didn't know that you were this romantic" I said jokingly as i chuckled, Shadow puts his guitar down than held his hand out to me, As soon as I accepted soft slow dance music started playing and he immediately pulled me close. Taking the first steps of the slow dance, I smiled at the thought he did all of this for me.
