It had been an eventful week last week as it was the week when Maria was killed. . . From what happened before, I was very abrupt and distant from Sonic and it caused problems until I told him. He was a big help during this time and, I decided to return the favor by singing an old song I wrote 50 years ago that I never gotten to show Maria. . .
Shadow's P.O.V. I sat down with Sonic on the hill while holding a guitar, Sonic looked at me patiently while I was tuning it. . I was hesitant to even play this song because it was only for Maria, but in some way I felt like it was for Sonic too. I played it a bit to make sure it was good and paused for a minute, I somehow felt anxious and Sonic noticed. . He gently held my hand as I looked at him; "Take your time Shads, If you don't want to its okay" Sonic said while smiling, I took a breath and started to play the song on the guitar.

I started singing the song. . My voice was clear but also raspy as I sung, I was focused on the way I played the guitar so I wouldnt mess up a note, and as I sung. . . Memories from 50 years ago were coming back to me, the days where Maria and I were talking about coming to earth, when she made me feel important. . . She always told me that I had a good singing voice when I used to play the piano with her, as I sung I looked up a bit at Sonic who was swaying side to side slightly to the melody of both my voice and the guitar. I smiled a bit while singing and went back to my mind, where the memories kept flowing like a slide show of all the fun times Maria and I got to have before. . . Before. . . It was cut short. . . But while I had my time with her, we lived and learned so much even though I was just made and she was just a kid who wanted to explore earth. . I guess she got her wish since im down here for her. As I finished singing, Sonic put his hand on my cheek and wiped a slight tear that was rolling slightly down my cheek, oh. . I was crying, as soon as I thought that more started to form as I slightly dropped the guitar, covering my face. Sonic hugged me gently as I sobbed silently, my head was buried in his shoulder and all Sonic did was rub my quills gently as we sat on the hill in silence. ". . . Ever since she was killed. . . I felt like a monster, the pain is still there and I feel like its all my fault that she died, they should've taken me. . And spared her. ." Sonic let me go and gently puts his hands on my cheeks while looking at me, his facial expressions were soft and calming. . something new that I haven't experienced for a very long time. "Shadow listen to me. . . What happened 50 years ago was never your fault, they assorted to violence which wasn't needed at all, Maria would be so happy that you made it here and sure it was rough. . We've had our fights and differences before we got together, but at the end of the day you granted her wish. . Are you happy?" Sonic gently held my hands as he kept looking at me, I nodded at his question and he pulled me close, kissing me gently. . I kissed him back as a tear rolled down my face, I wasn't lying at all because for the first time in my life I was actually happy for the first time in years and that happiness came from the one person who was supposed to be my long time rival, the hedgehog I was supposed to hate for many reasons. I pulled away from the kiss and rest my head on Sonic's, smiling a bit as Sonic smiled too.
"Thanks Sonic. . Really" I said as Sonic sat up a bit and kissed my head, I had my head on Sonic's shoulder and his arm was wrapped around mine. We both enjoyed the view, the wind blew as the autumn leaves fell from trees, unexpectedly Sonic stood up and looked back at me; "Let's go on a walk!" he held his hand out as I looked up at him confused; "A walk, not a run? Or a race? Just a walk?" he nodded at my question as I rolled my eyes, accepting his hand as we slid down the hill. Sonic almost tripped as I caught him, causing him to laugh nervously, we walked in an empty area as all you could hear was the wind and the crumple of leaves from each step we both took. "Im surprised no one is out right now, its still bright outside" Sonic said while smiling, I held his hand while walking as we both blushed; "Well, gives us time to actually walk hand in hand, right?" I looked over at Sonic as he nodded, he let go of my hand and hugged my arm as we walked. . I gently laid my head on his and smiled only faintly. I checked the time and saw that it was around 8pm, I remembered that I had to meet Rouge and looked over at Sonic. "I need to stop by Rouge's place for a sec, its for a job next week. Wanna come?" Sonic nodded happily as I smiled, then smirked as I picked him up bridal style which made him blush even more and ran to Rouge's place.
Sonic's P.O.V. Shadow ran straight to Rouge's place while carrying me and the wind felt a bit icy as he ran, I held him tight as we finally arrived to Rouge's place, Shadow knocked on her door 5 times and after a few minutes Rouge answered; "Hey Shady boy, oh? Sonic too! come in I just finished making dinner if you're hungry" She opened the door wider as we went inside, I never really visit Rouge's place unless its at the front door step but Ive never really been inside. Her apartment was very designable, and i mean there was a shiny theme as there were jeweled furniture, mostly the chandelier. "You boys hungry? I made some beef stew if you'd like some" The food caught my attention as I drooled a bit while looking at it, Shadow noticed as he rubbed my head softly "Sonic can eat before me, I'll eat in a bit, where's the job paper you were talking about?" I sat down at the table as Rouge told him where the paper was which was in her study, he went there as Rouge came back and gave me a bowl of the stew. As I was eating Rouge sat beside me; "Have you two had sex yet?" I choked on the food from her question and blushed a deep red. "W-What?! what made you ask that question?!" I covered my mouth as I was a bit too loud, Rouge giggled and scooted closer to me; "I mean you too couldve talked about it at some point. How long have you two been together for? And who knows about it?" I thought about it for a bit. . . He and I started living together in the winter time last year, started dating around the day when Eggman attacked which was in June. . And it's November now. "I think. . 6 months, Tails knows, and Amy kind of, but. . We've never really talked about. . Sex" I said as I played with the stew before eating some more; "Well Blue, you gotta get it before time runs out, by time I mean before you both dont want to do it. You at least have to ask" She had a good point, as I was about to say something Shadow came back and I was blushed very red. "Alright, I'll make sure everything is needed for next week. Ready to go?" I jolted and looked at him nodding, I stood up and walked to the door while playing with my fingers, Shadow and Rouge talked for a bit before Shadow came to me and we left.
Shadow carried me while running back to our place, we went through the back since the press were getting angsty for new gossip. As we walked in, Shadow was locking the door while taking off his shoes; "Okay, Im gonna be gone all next week so I'll make sure to go shopping before-" without a second thought, I pinned him against the door with both hands as he turned to me. He was blushing a bit while looking at me, my head was bowed down as I didn't know what to say next. . I acted without thinking; "You okay?" He asked as I looked up at him, I kissed him deeply which caught him by surprise but he kissed back. I felt like I wanted this, even though I was very new to it.
"C-Can we get intimate. . .?!"
