The meaning of being heartbroken

I think being heartbroken has not always something to do with losing a loved one. It's  also about losing yourself, maybe you're a loved one to yourself, maybe you're not. I think it's also about losing feelings, expectations and maybe also about feeling the loss more than you can feel anything else. I know that this is the worst thing that you can feel, but you can't feel anything else in this situation. Sometimes it's important to feel something that you don't want to feel, like being heartbroken. Being heartbroken doesn't always mean you're at the end of a love-relationship, it means  you're at the end of an era of your life. You have a relationship to everyone you know, it doesn't matters if they are your friend, your mother or your enemy. It's important to allow yourself to feel anything but sometimes I just feel nothing, there's a big zero in my feelings, maybe it's just too much for my body, too much for my soul, too much for myself. When it's almost at that place, it's hard to take myself out of that hole.
