The ninth and final bell rung, and Mrs.Winters finally dismissed us. I gathered my things and ran outside towards the garden. I guess I might spend a little time studying here instead of going home right away. I sat down in one of the white tables that was in the middle of the garden. The Eco students have been doing a good job by keeping the plants intact. An absolutely flawless garden, if I do say so myself.

"Hey, Rose" said Shadow from behind me. "Hello, Shadow!" I replied in my usual, perky self. I pulled out my math textbook and my homework as he took the chair across from mine. "Studying?" Shadow asked as he set his backpack down. I nodded and started flipping through my textbook.

"I thought popular girls didn't do homework," he said with a sly grin. "I thought outcasts were Wallflowers that never talked to anyone, especially popular girls," I replied with a smile. "Touché," he said and let out a laugh. I feel so much De Já Vu right now.

I stood up and walked to a vending machine, Shadow following closely. "So, whatcha getting Rose?"
"A drink."
"From a vending machine?"
"Yeah, so?"
"I thought popular girls only drank Starbucks," he said with a grin.
I sighed and put a dollar in the machine, and clicked on Mt.Dew.
"Ooh, gamer drink, eh?"

I hate that people classify me as a popular person. I know I'm popular, but I'm not the bitchy type of popular like Sally is. Omg, excuse my language!

(Lin: Amy doesn't cuss, well only if she's really mad tho...)

"Shadow, because I'm popular doesn't mean I'm the mean type of girl who bullies other people. And I'll let you know that I don't like Starbucks," I said as I sat back down.
He looked at me and smiled. "You're different...I that."
"Thanks," I said and proceeded to start studying again. He then took a small sip from my coke, and thought I didn't notice. I took a small sip after him. Does this count as an indirect kiss? Well, whatever. Wait a minute!

"Shadow, did you lose something earlier today?" I asked, my ears perking up. "As a matter of fact, I did," he said. I unzipped my purse and took out the emerald. "You dropped your emerald thingie, and I never had a chance to give it back," I said and gave him his emerald back.
"Wait, did you just say 'Emerald Thingie'?" he said, obviously trying to hold in a laugh. I felt my face heat up. "Sorry! I meant Chaos Emerald!" He laughed. "Thanks Rose, I was looking for it."
"Yeah, be lucky I found it before anyone else, Rouge wanted to cash it," I said with a smile.

(Lin: So much smiling!)

"Yo Ames, I came- Oh. You again," said Sonic. Damn, why does he have an habit of showing up at the worst times? "Hey Blue," said Shadow with a wave. "Amy, what's he doing here?" Sonic asked me.
"Mrs whatever her name is asked me to tutor Rose in formulas because she was having some trouble. She begged me to, and I couldn't say no," Shadow replied smoothly. Damn, he sure knows how to come up with lies in the spot!
"It's true, Sonic!" I tried to reassure. Sonic gave Shadow a dirty look and walked away. "Hmph, killjoy," said Shadow under his breath.
"You said it," I replied with a sigh. Don't get me wrong, I love Sonic and all but he can be a real bummer sometimes...
