"Ahh~"
"It's nice, isn't it?"
"Yeah!"
The sun beamed down on the green sun. Birds chirped merrily, the wind carrying their sweet songs across the park. The smell of flowers filled the air.
Spring had finally arrived.

"Ah...Ah...ACHOO!"
"You okay, Sonic?"
"Definitely!"
I gave him a small smile, looking him over. "Are you sure? I know how your allergies can get."
"I'm fine, Amy. I just forgot to take the allergy pills. It'll pass soon, anyway."
I nodded, looking up to the sky.

Having two months of winter really makes you value the warm months. Sure, the fluffy snow is nice and all, but I don't think it'll ever live up to the beautiful display of colors spring has to offer. Besides, isn't it nicer to be outside without three layers of clothing - not including your coat - just to enjoy hanging out with friends? I prefer a light sweater, not a coat half my weight. Although hot chocolate next to the fireplace on a cold night is delightful as well.

Another sneeze from Sonic interrupted my thoughts.

I turned my gaze to him once more. "Sonic, why don't we just go inside?"
"I'm fine, Ames."
"Come on. There's a cafe nearby."

He sighed, wiping his nose with a napkin. "Alright, fine. My treat though."
"Your treat? At least let me help you pay."

"No."
"Sonic."
"No!"
"Sonic!"

"Amy, you know better than anyone that I'm as stubborn as you."

I scoffed. "Fine. Our next meal's on me though."
"Deal."

Before long (and after a couple of more sneezes from Sonic) we reached the small cafe that was stationed at a nearby street. I entered the establishment, the familiar smell of coffee and cookies filled the air like usual.

"Haven't been here for so long!" Sonic smiled, taking in the smell.
I nodded, taking a deep breath. "Let's go get a table."

The small cafe wasn't too busy, and many people were conversing silently at their tables. It was a bit relieving to have some peace and quiet for once, it isn't exactly a luxury for me, having the loud and unpredictable friends I have...excluding Silver. We walked to the back of the cafe, sitting in a small booth. The flowers at the center of the table made nice decorations. Chrysanthemums. Luckily for Sonic, they're plastic. Still a nice decal though!

"So, what do you feel like having today, Ames?" he asked, his green eyes making his way up to mine.

"Mm...I don't know. The chocolate cake looks good." I scanned the menu, eyeing the sweets.
He did the same, looking at his own across the table. "Alright. And to drink?"

"Lemonade!"

"Chocolate cake and lemonade. Interesting combination." He grinned, raising his hand to call the nearest waiter over.

"Hello! Welcome to The Elvis Pzazz , how are you guys doing today? Are you ready to order?"
Sonic looked at our waiter, looking him up and down before breaking out into laughter. "Since when are you so polite, Knux?"
Knuckles blushed, almost as red as his hair. "Shut up," he snarled. "So Shadow and I have jobs, no big deal. At least we can care for ourselves."
Sonic smiled, amused. "Sure. Anyway, we're ready to order."
He proceeded to repeat our orders to Knuckles, who assured us that they would be given to us in 10 minutes before leaving.

"We should get jobs too, Ames."
"I already have a job."
"Do you? Since when?"
I turned my eyes to him once more, setting the menu down on the table. "My job at the pastry shop? Remember that?"

He stared at me, his expression blank. As if trying to recall some memories. After a few minutes, hie eyes lit up. "Ah! That place your brother runs, right?"
"That one."
Sonic let out a small laugh. "Best pastry shop in town."
"Mostly because I'm the one who bakes them." It was my turn to laugh.
"Exactly."

"Sorry for the delay. Here are your orders, two slices of chocolate cake and pink lemonade," Knuckles mumbled, setting our plates on the table. "Oh, and the chief sends this to you, Sonic." He slipped a slip of paper to Sonic before walking away.

"Compliments to the chief!" I shouted after him. I'm guessing he caught that by the thumbs up he flashed me.

I turned to Sonic, my eyes looking over the note that Knuckles had given him. "What does it say?"
He picked it up, opened it, and read it over. He stood up, crumpled the note up, threw it on the table, and stormed his way to the kitchen.
Upon opening it, I could see three neat words.

Fuck you, Faker.

I couldn't help but let out a small laugh.
