Mere khayal ki parvaaz bus tumhi tak thi

Phir is ke bad mughe koi asmaan na mila

(Unknown)

Log mughse mil ka bichar jate hain

Isliye main logon se door rehta hoon

Mat samgho ate nahi adab-e-mulakat mughe

Khaloos ka banda hoon, adat se majboor rehta hoon

Jin se barha mera rabta, gham hi mila

Ab rabta nahi barhata bohat masroof rehta hoon

Log mughe kehte hain bemurawat or khudgharz

Kitne ache namon se mashoor rehta hoon

Har waqt khoya rehta hoon khud ki talash main

Bohat thak gaya hoon, apnon se door rehta hoon

(Unknown)

She was busy going through the lecture notes when her cell phone vibrated, Meerab picked up her phone to find a message from Maham "I hope you are fine, Saba has come back, and she has asked about your whereabouts in the WhatsApp group. Do you want to meet her now?"

"No, just send me her number and I will contact her", Meerab wrote the reply and hit the send button.

She knew that this hide-and-seek game would have to come to an end one day, but she had no idea if she was ready to face the world or not.

She wanted to meet her friends, to start living a normal life but the idea of Murtasim's men still looking for her was intimidating. She did not want to go back to the house where she was not respected.

Heck, she didn't even know if she was welcome in the Khan Haveli any longer.

Every time she thought that she should return to him, that he would also be in a miserable state without her, the thought of him doubting her character or him being in a wedlock with that pixie witch just boiled her blood.

The idea of him being settled with Haya pierced her heart. Every time this thought passed through her mind she would feel as if someone had had rubbed salt into her wounds.

She forced herself to focus on the notes as she had other chores to do.

"Ye vapis kyun le kar ja rahi hain?" Murtasim asked the maid who had exited Anwar Khan's room rolling out the tea trolley with its contents untouched.

"Ji vo bare Khan ne khana khane se mana kardiya hai Khan" The maid replied hesitantly.

Murtasim let out a sigh.

"App is ko vapis andar le kar ajaen" He entered Anwar Khan's room with the maid following behind. She carefully set the tea trolley near the table and exited the room when Murtasim gestured for her to leave them alone.

"App khana kyun nahi kha rahe Chacha Sahab" He questioned Anwar Khan while coming to stand beside him.

"Bhook nahi hai" Anwar Khan replied without looking at him and kept on looking out of the window.

Before he could say anything, Anwar Khan turned around and looked him in the eye "Tumne kya sach main us ki vapsi ki Umeed chordi hai"

"App ko kya lagta hai" He asked in a calm tone.
