The truck glided down the road at top speed with nothing getting in its path. They had now been driving for 3 hours without a toilet break or anything. Gabe stayed awake as he was determined that his sister would be up north, Wayne was fast asleep, George and Debra couldn't keep their eyes open and Dylan and Kayleigh had also fallen asleep.
"Zombles!!!" Wayne shouted as George quickly opened his eyes, swerved the truck back onto the road and ran the walker over.
"Thanks Wayne..." George said whilst scrubbing Wayne's head. "We could have crashed, but thanks to you we didn't. You saved us little man, you are going to grow up to be a great person..." He smiled and went back to concentrating on driving. Wayne smiled and snuggled back up to his mother before falling back to sleep.
--
Another hour had gone by and George pulled up outside of a gas station.
"Everyone get up, we are sleeping here for the night..." George mumbled as he got out of the truck. Everyone got out of the truck whilst yawning and went inside of the station. It was empty and seemed untouched. "Everyone find a place to sleep, I will lock up..." He then locked the truck in the car wash with a metal pole and he did the same with the station. He then climbed over the counter and fell asleep on the rotating office chair.
--
It was about mid-day and everyone had woken up and get themselves sorted. They looted the most they could from the gas station and had set off North. They eventually got to a massive city which seemed condemned, there were no zombies, no people and no vehicles, as if it was all evacuated before the apocalypse started.
"Something doesn't seem quite right about this..." Kayleigh said quietly.
"Yeah, nothing seems right about this... It's all too empty from anything..." Dylan said seriously.
"We should turn around..." Gabe spoke up.
"Why? We could settle here for a bit..." George replied "It seems so empty that it seems safe..."
"Yeah, it will be good for me and little Wayne..." Debra said whilst cuddling Wayne. Gabe replied back
"Okay, but as soon as anything seems suspicious or wron-" Suddenly a load of tanks came rolling from around the buildings and a man with black hair on was standing on the centre one with a megaphone in hand.
"ALRIGHT, EVERYONE LISTEN UP!" The man started "I AM THE GOVERNOR, I AM HERE TO KEEP YOU ALL SAFE IN WOODBURY! YOU WILL COME WITH US SO WE CAN CREATE A COMMUNITY, SOMEWHERE THAT WE WILL ALL GET ALONG!" He laughed "ALTHOUGH IF YOU DECIDE TO DECLINE MY OFFER... WE SHALL KILL YOU ALL!"
"Step on it!!" Debra shouted, making George slam his foot on the pedal and reverse backwards down the road.
"KILL THEM ALL!" The Governor shouted as the tanks moved forwards and started shooting. The truck raced backwards out of the no-longer condemned city and turned around before driving off down the lane.
The tanks came charging thought the city like a stampede of bulls and slowly caught up with the truck. The truck then got to a dead end on the edge of a cliff. The cliff was above a waterfall which glimmered in the sun. A faint rainbow could be seen over it and birds were tweeting lightly around. The truck paused on the edge as the tanks came towards it.
"I TOLD YOU TO COME!" The Governor shouted as the tank slowly pushed the truck off the edge. He laughed evilly at the terrified faces that were in the truck "IM SORRY!" He shouted as it rocked backwards.
"PLEASE DONT!" Wayne and Debra shouted.
"YOU BITCH!" Gabe yelled as the truck rocked backwards and forth.
The truck then slid back as everyone in the back climbed forward to get my off. But they weren't quick enough and the truck fell. Everyone screamed as they fell along the side of the waterfall and smashed into the river below. There was then a silence before the Governor Laughed again and went backwards, out of sight and still standing on his tank.
