I Will Survive

18 - Divide

Antonia walked away in the crowd of walkers. The savage covered her in zombie guts to cover the smell as he took her away to wherever he needed to go. Everyone inside of the shop was in tears and Debra felt bad for not refusing Antonia's offer.

"Harry babe, your sister is crying again!" A tall blonde boy said. He had cyan eyes, a black lip piercing and blonde spiked hair, his skin was as pale as snow and he had a dragon tattoo up his left arm. He wore a black vest top and black jeans with black trainers.

"Ok Charlie!" Harry replied with a small smirk. He was slightly shorter than Charlie and had black straight hair which went down on the left side covering his eye. He wore a black jacket, a grey top with skulls on and dark blue jeans with black trainers. His eyes were brown and he had his hood up.

Harry then walked over to a pushchair where lay his two year old sister. She had a white dress on and a pink pacifier next to her.

"You okay Winter?" He asked her as she cried. "Thought not..." He then said whilst giving her a bottle of milk. "All fresh!" He smiled whilst tickling her cheek "We have made it so far!"

"Okay, enough baby time, more me and you time!" Charlie smiled before going in for a kiss.

"Um, you guys ready to leave?" A brown haired male said.

"Yes Lucas!" Harry replied.

Lucas was a similar height to Harry but had light blue eyes and big black glasses. He had wavy brown hair that was down to his neck at the back. He wore red boots and a red body warmer. Under that he had an ocean blue t-shirt and blue jeans. He also wore a red and blue flat cap.

Lucas and Harry were 16 years old and Charlie was 17 so he acted as more of the leader of their small group. All three of them then walked out, Lucas was at the front pushing Winters stroller and Harry and Charlie were holding hands behind him.

All three of them then left the bungalow into a big crowd of people which all stood around a big podium waiting for the next announcement. A woman in a white suit then stood at the top of it. She had ginger hair that was tied into two ponytails and she was 34 years old. She began to speak.

"Hello citizens of Oberlin! If you are new here I am Persephone, Mayor of this community! Our aim here is to expand and grow bigger! So far we have 40 People living here and we want to make that number higher. So I have gathered you all here today to tell you about a community which plans to also expand and grow and make their numbers bigger. They have a reservoir just like us and also livestock. My aim is to speak to the mayor of that community and make an alliance so we can both grow together in harmony and help each other when in danger. The place is just a few miles south from here and it's called Wellington! I shall be heading down there with a few of you! Anyone willing to go will need to place their name into the box below and in two hours the names shall be chosen! Thank you for listening!" She stepped off the podium and walked into one of the nearby buildings.

Charlie, Harry and Lucas all wrote their names on one of the pieces of card, hoping that they would be chosen for the trip outside of the walls. They had grown up in Oberlin so they wanted to see what the outside world was like.

Gabes jet swooped down to the ground in one of the empty fields that lay next to Wellington. Everyone got out into the breeze to where they were greeted by Turner and Josh.

"Hello Gabe! Back so soon?" Turner smiled whilst walking up to Gabe and patting him on the back. "Looks like you have some new members in your little group... Actually, where is everyone else?" He asked curiously.

"Well we have Mia, who is our newest member and Dylan and his friends decided to go to Atlanta, so we dropped them off in this plane." Gabe lied.

"Oh right, that's good! How is the safe zone there? Any good?" Turner laughed.

"Yeah! It's great!" Gabe lied as he laughed awkwardly.

"Gabe, where is Wayne?!" Josh asked whilst running up to Gabe and hugging his legs.

"Wayne is-" Gabe started.

"-is at Atlanta now with his mummy!" Kayleigh helped as she went to Josh and hugged him.

"Okay so who are you then?" Turner asked whilst pointing to Mia as she stood against George.

"I'm Mia!" She said happily whilst bobbing her hair a bit and flattering her skirt.

"Okay you guys better come inside Wellington, it's too unsafe out here!" Turner laughed whilst leading them back inside.

"Fuck, its been hours and the zombies still haven't thinned out!" Jackson complained as he bounced on the couch.

"Yeah, are there any other exits out of this shop?" Michael asked.

"Yeah, though the upstairs window, but we would have to climb over a metal wire to get to the other side of the street..." Dylan replied.

"Can we try that?" Jackson asked.

"Sure, if you want to die!" Debra smiled slightly for the first time in a while.

"Anything to get out of this damn stinking shop!" He replied laughing and then running upstairs towards the window.

Outside of it he could see the masses of wanderers wandering the streets. The sky was dull and grey and little splatters of rain started to fall occasionally. He then slid the window open and stepped out, holding onto the wire.

Everyone below held their breath as they watched him struggle get a good grip onto the wire.

"I'm actually going to do this!" He laughed to himself as he swung his legs up around the wire and began shuffling across. Everyone watched through the downstairs window as he struggled across the thin shining wire. He then slid off the other side of the wire and stood of the building that was there. "I did it!" He then said to himself as he began doing the moonwalk and dancing around.

"Woah, he actually did it!" Dylan said surprised whilst clapping. Everyone else smiled and also began clapping. Jackson then instantly went upstairs and poked his head out of the window.

"Jackson!" He shouted "Look for some food and come back will you?" Michael shouted over.

"Sure! That's what I was intending to do anyway!" Jackson smiled as he ran off over the roofs.

"Okay! So the people coming wig me to Wellington are!..." Persephone shouted as she once again stood on the podium "HARRY, LUCAS AND CHARLIE!" She shouted with a smile. "I will see you three in the armoury in ten minutes!" She finally said whilst going back to her building.

Charlie kissed Harry and smiled.

"I can't believe that it is us!" Lucas gleamed.

"I know right! I can't wait!" Harry said excitedly.

"Okay then guys, let's go to the armoury!" Charlie said whilst leading them over to heir destination.

"So what are you guys going to do whilst you are down here in Wellington then?" Turner asked as they all sat around the meeting table.

"I think we are going to stay a while and help expand your walls!" Gabe replied whilst nodding to the others.
"And to tell you the truth..."

This is the last chapter of the first arc! The next arc should come out soon, but I'm going to use this time as a small break for preparation and writing my other books. :)
