The next day, after Jungkook's classes had ended and before Yoongi's shift was due to start, the two carpooled in Yoongi's fancy Mercedes to the police station.

Jungkook, feeling a weird, warm sensation inside at the fact the doctor had picked him up from his college and was now driving so casually, fiddled with his hands in his lap. "Thanks for coming with me."

Yoongi smiled. "It's okay."

"I know it's stupid to be nervous about going to a police station." Jungkook laughed anxiously. "I mean, what place is safer than one full of armed law enforcement?"

"You've never done it before, it's natural to be nervous when doing something new." Yoongi said, reassuring the boy. "You have the ID?"

Jungkook nodded, pulling it out of his backpack. It had been sealed in a plastic bag. "I didn't know if they were gunna dust it for prints or something. I figured the dirt and rain probably ruined any evidence that was on it, but..." He shrugged, feeling stupid, but Yoongi laughed.

"Good idea." The doctor parked in front of the large building. "Shall we go?"

They climbed out of the car and headed inside, hearing phones ringing and people talking. They had to wait in the lobby on hard plastic chairs until an officer was ready to talk to them. Yoongi read a magazine while he waited, and Jungkook passed the time by trying not to continuously stare at the handsome doctor.

After a few minutes, one finally approached them. He was tall, with bulging muscles and serious eyes. His black hair swept across his forehead, and he towered over both Yoongi and Jungkook. His nametag said Officer Yim.

"I understand you two have evidence in an ongoing case?" His gruff voice was muffled by the black mask he wore.

"Y-yes," Jungkook stammered, quickly standing up. "In my bag here."

"This way." The officer turned and walked to the row of desks, leaving the two to hurry after him.

They sat down at the officers desk, and Yim pushed a clipboard to them. "Fill this form out."

Yoongi did that while Jungkook dug the ID out of his backpack. "I found this three days ago, in an alley. I didn't know the boy was missing until later, otherwise I would have brought it to you right away."

The officer didn't seem to care, busy typing on his computer. Finally he glanced at the ID, and Yoongi noticed the slight widening of the officers eyes when he read the name. Yim quickly put on a neutral expression again, but the split second moment still made the doctor uneasy.

Yim grabbed the ID, studying it through the plastic. "What alley did you find this in?"

"Uh, the one near the all night convenience store." Jungkook shrugged.

"Which one?" The officers voice was sharp, startling the student.

Jungkook scrunched his face, trying to remember. "Uh, the really narrow one, by 150th street and Main."

"What time was this at?" The officer was quickly taking notes, and Yoongi subtly craned his neck, trying to read the messy, upside down writing.

"Um, I don't remember exactly. It was late at night-"

"If you want to help us with this case, you'll do well to remember specifics." The officer glared.

Surprised by the sudden hostility, Jungkook blinked. "Uh, it was past midnight. I think I might still have the receipt from what I bought at the store that night, that'll tell me the time I left there." Grateful for an excuse to break eye contact with the scary officer, Jungkook quickly dug in his bag.
