Angel's PoV

Song: I'm So Sorry by Imagine Dragons

I stepped into the large, barren building a nostalgic smell wafting to my senses from my younger years.

"Angel Duncan?" My eyes snapped to the voice, it was Jennifer Young, the lead director of the institute of Hero's my eyes bulged as I saw her and Jess conversing when I walked in and I choked on my saliva.

'SHIT!' I cursed inwardly and I gulped still allowing my feet to go so I didn't seem suspicious. I should have accounted for this, but I didn't like a fool.

"Hey..." I trailed off looking at the two adults, I was one as well but compared to these two I was not. They smiled warmly at me looking at me expectantly as I opened and closed my mouth trying to figure out what to say.

"I just... Wanted to see Jess... It's been awhile and I haven't been able to call, with my day job and what happened..." I said and Jennifer laughed lightly, "no need to worry Kiddo. You're always welcome here" Jennifer said clapping a hand on my shoulder. I flinched but smiled slightly nonetheless.

Jennifer headed out the front door that I came in, I am assuming heading home as she had just finished her shift, I turned to Jess as she smiled at me her older features looking more old then the last time I had seen her.

"How are you doing Hun?" She asked looking at me worried and I sighed looking at her gently.

"I could be better, life is confusing how in the nine hells did you manage to get through life like you have?" I asked and she let out a laugh, and I laughed with her.

"I am many years older than you pup. I will have more knowledge and be much more Wise each meeting" She said amused and I nodded gently wishing I could have that knowledge as well.

"I more over just wanted to come check on you, as I was going through some stuff and have been checking on the people that matter to me the most" I sad gently and she smiled at me happily.

"I appreciate that Sweetheart, I hope you're taking care of yourself, you look like you've been through it" She said worried and I nodded gently my eyes glazing over slightly realizing how tired I may look to her.

"Yeah.. I should get going" I said and Jess nodded turning to go back to her screen and her crosswords, I smiled waving at her as I left, knowing where all the camera's were as I hit the blind spot and shift into a small fly, zipping to the elevator.

I squeezed through the doors and into the shaft, making my way down, to Level A squeezing through another set of doors.

"Why bother putting guards on this floor? They are literally the least harmful people in the world aside from ungifted" A guard said and I rolled my eyes at him as I went to the console computer next to him.

I wiggled into the system going for main power down, shutting the whole system down, lights, security everything. I wiggled out again as the lights flickered and went out, I wiggled out again and made my way to Cell  A-004.

"Lemon Drop?" I called into the room as I shifted into my human form, a girl about 5 inches taller than me with long blonde hair and pristine gold eyes looked at me fearfully.

"Hey, easy, Jackson sent me" I said gently and she stood as I offered my hand and she looked at me in surprise as I shifted into a moth and flew to her shoulder.

"I will guide you out of here, but be careful, guards and other prisoners will try to stop you. I will protect you just keep moving" I said and she nodded as she stepped out.

"Left and straight forward to the elevator" I directed as I scanned the surroundings for any dangers, mostly just other prisoners poking their tired heads out as the sirens went.
