Angel's PoV

Song: Sweet Disposition- The Temper Trap

I sat on my balcony watching the news on my phone, about how amazing Kraken is, to be fair I still had the biggest crush on him. Yeah he was self-centered but he never paid attention to any of the other girls, he treats me like a princess and the news is starting to catch on. This is a huge issue, I have read nothing but issues to do with the hero's "loved ones" in stories anyways.

"Hey, An!" I heard a voice from above making me jump slightly, I looked up to see Cody and I relaxed greatly my body calming down greatly. Ever since the dinner, when I was trapped in the bathroom and Cody yelled at me for even talking to his brother. Cody worries me, a lot considering his super strength and his ability to crush my windpipe. I know he wouldn't, but someone would do anything when angry, I watched him as he leaned on my railing.

"Angel... I was wondering if you would go to dinner with me..?" He asked now nervous, I looked at him confused brows furrowing.

"Like a date?" I asked gently head to the side curiously, he froze thought for a second and nodded firmly eyes determined with a fire I had never seen before. He was being cocky again, that fire is his ego burning through. I stared at him in shock my eyes narrowing as the news played through.

"Will our hero be a bachelor any longer or will he finally find a girlfriend?" He was doing this for publicity, he just wanted to show people he could date anyone he pleased.

Anger boiled up inside my stomach, I let out a soft breathe my anger slowly dissipated as I looked at him again.

"Sure why not" I said smiling slightly as I stood up, 'Not like I have anything to lose ' I thought to myself.

"Let me get changed" I said glancing at the time, it was only about 6 since it was 6 o'clock news, October 16th 2XXX it was about 100 or so since our plague that wiped out and put civilization into isolation.

I opened the balcony door, heat rushing out as the furnace kicked on, Crow meowed from his spot on the couch and I stroked his soft head. When Crow realized that Cody was here he puffed up and growled lowly in anger.

"Oh come on boy, let me feed you then I am going to dinner" I cooed at my fur baby. Crow calmed down and made his way to the cat tree, I hummed filling his dry food and going to my bedroom. I am an author if you didn't already know that, but I am also a Vet. The best in the city.

I hummed throwing on a nice black tank top, with a pair of black leggings and a leather jacket. Fitting on my boots a pair of heeled velvet boots, smiling gently I brushed my hair and stroked it back softly. I looked at myself in the mirror. The light caught my eyes as the sight behind me made me jump, Damian's reflection was in my mirror but when I turned quickly breathing sharply.

No one was there my eyes were flicking around my room, I felt breathe go down my neck. Making chills crawl down my spine and I turned again, no one and nothing was there.

My brows furrowed in slight confusion and fear as I looked around, I was completely alone, aside from Cody being on my balcony. My mouth was drawn into a fearful thin line.
