I was feeling really tired and bored today

I was feeling really tired and bored today. I had to come in early for work because I had a meeting with the hospital dean about my kids and it was really important. So I left even before anyone in the house woke up.

The only exciting part of the whole day was Arjun messaging me. I messed with him for a couple of minutes but he was being ride again so I stopped responding and left him on seen.

I didn't eat breakfast in the morning, I just had a coffee on the way here and nothing else since then. I was sitting in my office during break time and veera was nagging at me to go eat with him. I was so hungry that my stomach kept rumbling.

Veera flashed a friendly smile as he tried to coax me away from me desk, his tone lighthearted yet persistent.

"Hey Princess, you've been buried in charts all morning. Come on, take a break for lunch."

I glanced up from my computer screen, a hint of exhaustion in my eyes.

"I appreciate the invite, but I've got this patient's history to finalize."

"You can spare thirty minutes. Trust me, it'll do wonders for your energy levels. We all need a breather."

Veera leaned against the doorway, waiting for my response.

"I know, but the workload is just..."

I wanted to go but I was too busy and I couldn't ask him to get takeout also because later it will be too late and I needed to do rounds. I didn't want to keep the kids waiting. Most of them followed a strict schedule and if I delayed their schedule will get messed up.

"Princess, we're a team. Lunch is our small escape. Plus, I heard a new stall opened up nearby where they sell pani puri, you can't miss that!"

He added a playful note, hoping to inject a bit of humor into the situation.

I couldn't help but smirk at the mention of pani puri, a weakness of mine.

"Alright, fine. Thirty minutes, but then I'm back to these charts."

"Deal! Your patients will thank you for a more refreshed doctor, trust me."

I removed my white coat and stethoscope and placed it on the table before locking my office. As we walked toward the restaurant, the conversation shifted from work to lighter topics, like the new movies that were released or actors get hitched out of nowhere.

We walked over to the new restaurant that had recently opened its doors downtown. As we entered the restaurant, the aroma of spices and the vibrant atmosphere immediately captivated our senses. Seated at a cozy corner table, we began perusing the menu, filled with dishes we'd grown up with.

The waiter, noticing our contemplation, approached with a friendly smile.

"Thinking of getting the chicken chettinadu masala and mutton biryani. And, of course, garlic naan – can't forget that", Veera said his excitement palpable on his face.
