Shruthi's POV
As we prepared for our trip to Bangalore 3 days later, Arjun suggested the idea of driving there. His eyes sparkled with enthusiasm as he painted a picture of the open road and the freedom it promised.
"Why don't we drive to Bangalore? It'll be an adventure, just the two of us," he proposed, his voice filled with excitement.
I smiled at his enthusiasm but shook my head gently. "Arjun, it's a long journey. We'll be tired by the time we arrive if we drive all the way," I reasoned, folding a few more clothes into my duffle bag.
Arjun chuckled, shaking his head in amusement. "You're always thinking practically, aren't you?" he teased, zipping up his own suitcase.
I smiled, nudging him playfully. "Someone has to," I replied, glancing at the train tickets on the table. "Plus, we can relax and enjoy the scenery on the train."
He nodded, conceding to my logic. "Alright, you win this time," he said, leaning in to give me a quick kiss. "But next time, we're taking the car."
I laughed, feeling a flutter of excitement at the prospect of our trip. "Deal," I agreed, returning his kiss with equal affection.
As we boarded the train, excitement and a hint of nervousness coursed through me. The platform buzzed with the chatter of fellow travelers and the clatter of luggage.
Stepping onto the train, my foot caught on the step's edge, sending me teetering forward. Just before I lost my balance, Arjun's arms wrapped around me, steadying me.
"Why are you always falling down?" he teased, a playful glimmer in his eyes.
I chuckled, grateful for his quick reflexes. "You're here to catch me if I fall so it doesn't matter," I replied, leaning into his embrace.
Arjun's arms tightened around me, drawing me closer. "Well, lucky for you then, I'm always here darling," he said, planting a gentle kiss on my cheek.
As we approached our seats, I reached for one of the suitcases, eager to help lighten Arjun's load. But he gently pushed my hand away, insisting, "I've got it, Angel. Just relax and enjoy the ride."
I pouted playfully, knowing he was trying to take care of me, but I couldn't help feeling a tad guilty. "But Arjun, I can help," I protested, a hint of stubbornness in my voice.
He shook his head, a smile playing on his lips. "No need. Let me take care of this," he insisted, rolling the suitcase effortlessly with one hand while slinging my duffle bag over his shoulder.
Grateful for his thoughtfulness, I nodded, relenting. "Okay, if you insist," I conceded, leaning against him as we made our way to our seats.
Arjun's arm slipped around my waist, pulling me close as we settled into our seats. Despite my initial desire to help, I couldn't deny the comfort of having him take care of me. As the train rumbled to life, I relaxed into his embrace, feeling content and secure by his side.
