Arjun's POV
Nirmal's concerned gaze lingered on me as I entered my office, a silent inquiry etched in his eyes. It didn't take long for him to bring up the pressing matter, his voice hushed as he leaned in, "Arjun, did you find the guy who harassed Shruthi?"
A steely resolve settled on my features as I affirmed, "Yes, I've been tracking him for a while now. It's time to teach him a lesson he won't forget."
Nirmal's eyebrows knitted with a mix of concern and anticipation. "What's the plan?"
Leaning against my desk, I began detailing the meticulous steps I had taken to gather information about the harasser a digital trail of connections, every piece of evidence carefully compiled. The time had come to ensure justice for Shruthi.
Nirmal, sensing the gravity of the situation, nodded in approval. "Arjun, be careful. We don't want any legal issues, but this guy needs to face the consequences."
Acknowledging Nirmal's concern, my focus remained unwavering. "I've got it under control. This isn't just about Shruthi, it's about sending a message. No one messes with my family and gets away with it."
"Well tell me what I have to do", the determined glint in Nirmal's eyes matched the resolute tone of his voice as he insisted on being part of the mission to bring justice to the harasser who had targeted Shruthi.
I sighed, realizing the depth of his commitment, both as a friend and a concerned colleague. "Nirmal, I appreciate your concern, but this isn't a typical office matter. It could get messy, and I can't risk involving you."
"I can't just stand by and watch. This is about Shruthi's safety, and I'm not going to let you face this alone," Nirmal asserted, the sincerity in his words cutting through any argument.
"Respectfully as your boss, I'm ordering you to stay out of this matter for your own good", I said firmly.
His response was swift, laced with a touch of defiance. "Respectfully, as your best friend, I don't give a fuck about office protocols. I'm not letting you face this alone. Besides, isn't 'best friend' a higher designation than 'boss'?"
A half-smile tugged at the corners of my lips, Nirmal was nothing if not persistent. "Nirmal, you don't have to do this. I'll handle it."
His gaze remained unwavering. "Arjun, I'm not giving you a choice in this. We're in this together."
It was a reminder of the bonds that transcended professional hierarchies. Nirmal, driven by loyalty and friendship, had made his decision clear, he wasn't backing down.
Running a hand through my hair, I contemplated the best course of action against the harasser who had targeted Shruthi. Nirmal, resolute and determined, stood across from me, ready to support in any way possible.
