*********************************************Asami stepped into the bar with Opal before both girls were immediately caught off guard by everyone screaming "Happy Birthday Opal!". Opal squealed before being pulled towards a group of friends for shots so Asami decided to make her way towards the bar. But before she even got there she saw Korra. She was wearing a dark blue button down that paired perfectly with her dark skin, the sleeves rolled up and a pair of black slacks with her short hair pulled back into a bun. Wow she looks gorgeous. Asami thought as she felt a flutter in her stomach and then all of a sudden blue eyes were locked on hers.
"Who are you staring at?" Bolin asked before following Korras line of sight. Once he saw who it was he swung back around and smirked at her. Korra took a long drag of her beer before responding. "It's not what you think" she said defensively. "I mean it is but it isn't" Korra let out frustrated groan. "I need to go apologize to her." Looking down at her beer with a frown. "Yeah I heard about what happened last night in the dining hall. That was rough." Bolin said with a grimace.
Korras head snapped up and she looked at her best friend. "Wait how do you know?" she asked slightly shocked. Bolin shrugged. "Well my girlfriend is her roommate as well as her best friend. And Mako told me". Korra groaned again, smacking her forehead with her palm. "Shit she told Opal. Now I have two people who think I'm a total asshole." Bolin squeezed Korras shoulder trying to reassure his friend. "Just go apologize to her. Asami is really levelheaded. Just be honest with her and everything should smooth over." He said smiling. "And according to Opal she wasn't completely rejecting the idea of going out with you."
That last sentence almost made Korra choke on her beer. "She's not straight!?" she said shocked. That was the last thing she had been expecting when she walked over to that table last night. They had crossed paths over the last three years. They always had a couple classes together every semester. And Korra did think Asami was cute. But she didn't really think she would be interested. "Sorry I thought you knew." Bolin was holding his stomach from laughing so hard. "I'm such a moron" Korra grumbled pinching the bridge of her nose. Bolin rested a hand on Korras shoulder again. "Just go apologize and be done with it". "Yeah be done with it" Korra muttered. Why do I have the feeling this isn't going to be that easy.
She looked back over to where Asami was at the bar. She was wearing a crimson dress that stopped mid thigh and her hair was partially pulled back with a small clip. Fuck she looks incredible. Then Korra noticed the girl Asami was talking to who had her hand on Asami's arm and was standing intimately close to her. Korra felt a wave of jealousy for a second before the girl turned around and she realized it was Opal.
"Hello... earth to Korra! You in there?"
Korra blinked realizing that Bolin was waving a hand in font of her face. Come on Korra just go get it over with and move on. She thought before knocking back the rest of her beer and setting the bottle on a nearby table. "I guess I'm going for it" she said taking a deep breath. Bolin gave her a pat on the shoulder, waggling his eyebrows at her. Korra chuckled and started making her way towards the bar.
