~YAEL~
Yael's mood instantly soured. She bit her lips to prevent her expression from showing that and Lucy seemed to not have noticed. She walked over to her tote and picked it up.
"I'll be at the market for a while, bye," Lucy said.
"Bye," Yael replied.
Lucy opened the door and left. At the same time, Duncan came back with a basket of vegetables and walked towards the table.
"Drop it, Yael," Duncan said.
Well, that soured her mood even more. "Are you going to visit her grave?""Yes, I am."
"Why?"
"Just because."
"You still love her?" Yael asked.
"I don't think I want to answer that."
"You cannot love two at once, Duncan," Yael told him.
"I love you," he said. "Isn't that all that matters?"
"Then why you not let her go?"
"It's not that simple - "
"Don't go to grave."
"No," Duncan said firmly. "I will go."
"I fear, Duncan," she said. "I fear your heart still with her."
"I love you," he repeated.
"No," she said. "I remember. You say if you cannot love two women at once."
"I did say that."
"And you say never move on from Maya, and even if you did, never give undivided love to other woman. You love me, but your love divided."
He didn't speak, his back still facing her.
"Look at me, Duncan," she said to him.
He didn't turn around.
"Look at me!"
He faced her, the features on his face an unreadable steel mask.
"Yael," he said. "I love you now. Isn't that enough? You're the only woman I see. I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
"No!" Yael yelled.
"Ya - "
"You say you'd be lying if you told a woman she was only one for you. You say if you find a woman you love more than Maya, you still not choose her over Maya."
"That was then," he said. "This is now."
"Tell me, do you love me more than Maya?"
"I do," he said with an unmoving face.
"If Maya here, and she want you, who you choose?"
Silence.
"Tell me, Duncan," Yael said. "And we no speak of this anymore."
But he only picked up the basket of tomatoes to begin cooking with them.
